What comes closest to Socom online gameplay?
I own the PS3 and was looking to see if everyone knows if any games that are out right now are equal to or as close to the socom online gaming experiece? i heard rainbow six: vegas does for 360..any thoughts?

i just wanna try a new war/ shooting game that is third person. Cant stand first person games.

Yeah I'm not a big first person shooter fan eiter. I like Halo, and band of brothers, but thats about it. I love 3rd person shooters, mainly because of Socom. I really don't think there is anything out there like Socom, GRAW 1 and 2 are really nothing like socom at all. They are pretty good, but not like Socom. Thats why i've always said that it Microsoft/Xbox ever come out with a Socom look a like, say good by to zipper and sony

rainbow six vegas is super close to socom. my friend has it for 360. its the same thing, just in first person.

The only good shooter out for PS3 is Resistance which satifies me for now. But Rainbow six vegas is coming out it June for PS3.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (GRAW2) has very similar game play to that of the Socom franchise. I own it for the Xbox 360 and find it to be an outstanding 3rd person shooter. It will be out for the PS3 some time in the next couple of months (3rd Quarter 2007 according to Gamespot.com). Moreover, as many others have posted Rainbow Six: Vegas (RB:6) also shares many similarities with the Socom series, despite being a 1st person shooter. Hope I was of some help.

Rainbow Six Vegas online is good, but not nearly as good as Socom 2. Nothing has really even come close to being as good as S2 online IMO except for Halo 2. Halo 2 and Socom 2 are the best online games I have ever played.
