How does comm serve work?
So heres the deal, i was driving and i got pulled over. The ticket says 5 mph over the speed limit and the cop says all i have to do is bring in my clean driving record and itll get wiped clean from my record. Turns out it doesnt. Now i have to work for the Man for 15 hours by april 9. So now im 15 dollars and hours in the hole and pissed. How exactly do i get credit for this/present it to the judge? Im in finance, not law...and theres good reason why. I know nothing about hte judicial system except that they always win. Help me out please, kthx.

I've never seen a cop pull someone over for going 5 over the speed limit. He must not like jewish kids:smile: or something. Has it been take to court yet? Then I wouldn't worry about it until it does. The only thing that it will effect you is a small increase in your auto insurance.
As far as community service the person that is in charge would have to fill out a form for you to give to the judge and courts.
Edit: Why in the h ell are you doing community service for a speeding ticket. Why didn't you just pay it off and be done with it. Why fight something, when it is a between his and your word.

I've had a few speeding tickets in my life. One for going 80 in 55 mph zone. I not once had community service. I would call a local lawyer and ask him or her about it. It want cost you anything to ask.

I have not yet gotten a speeding ticket, but my friend has. He was busted for going 30 over and had to do 25 hours of community service. He said it was better than the $200 ticket had to pay.
Now that I went off on my rant, I have no idea how the Community service works for you. My buddy went with his dad for a day and planted flowers and shoveled dirt and his dad filled out the form and he was good to go.

Community service isn't fun, I regret ever doing what I did to deserve it. For us we had to volunteer at the Local Shelter. It wasn't bad because some of these kids seemed normal for what they had to go through. Then we had to wash and polish the City police cars.

What did you do?
Luckily for me, I've never had a speeding ticket or any traffic citation for that matter. I do know what the costs are for things though. A 5MPH over for my city would be about $60.00/$70.00, depending on the zone.
