Well it happened the day I bought this game called Socom 2, I picked up a controller, hit online up, and rocked. The rest is legend.

Don't listen to him. I taught him everything he knows, he's nothing without my guidance.

Amen.
But on a serious note I feel like if I get a 3-1 ratio every round I am holding my own. Lately I have greatly improved mainly I think it is because I have become smarter, I mean I learn to wait, clear, and go. "Let the flies come to you young grasshopper"
I think it really clicked for me when I learned where the other team spawned. So I did not rush headlong by myself into a group of enemies exiting their spawn point. Also learning the maps and the major choke points has helped me. Find the choke points (high traffic areas) and find a nice bush lay down and snipe their arses.
Thats what I have been doing lately. Just find a nice place where everyone likes to run through and just wait for them lol. See thats what I mean. "Let the flies come to you."

I had a click in Socom 2. When I first got the game I sucked pretty bad, and I was just really excited to get kills, I didn't even care if I had 12 deaths already. Then as I slowlt learned the game over a couple weeks, I started to even out, and do okay sometimes. After a while, I was averaging games of around 10-6, and I thought it was good. Then I went away for a week to Osoyoos (for those who don't know that's a lake on the Canada/US border that's really hot in the summer ), and when I got back home I SUCKED at socom. I would get like 6-5 when I was lucky. But then one day I got 17-2 on Nightstalker, and continued getting double digit kills with single digit deaths virtually all the way until socom 3 came out. I was so used to doing good for awhile I got a big head and would tell everybody I could beat them, and I would if they took a challenge, but then I got socom 3, and I sucked hard at it :( ...I'm currently in the process of building myself up from decent to good.
And no, I'm not going on Socom 2 tonight to "show yall what I gotz", for you people who will call me on my egotisticalness.

I never really clicked in Socom 2. If I went 2-1 in a round I was happy. When Socom3 came out it was the same thing. Then about 3 weeks ago I started really paying attention to details, thinking about strategies and sticking to them. Now I've had games where I go 14-1. I don't remeber when exactly it all clicked, but I do remember the first time I got MVP in a room. After playing for so long as only a below average player, I jumped out of my chair and did my own little victory dance (sprinkler, followed by can opener, followed by robot) Then my girlfiend called me the biggest nerd she has ever seen.

I clicked when I learned all the hot spots of where lots of people like to go, I wait out the 1st grenads until they start moving then i chuck mine. Now I am averaging 2-3 grenade kills a round on some maps

In socom 1 I'd play in Alaska Medley a lot, and I was truly a sniper legend. US East 2, Alaska Medley, everybody knew me. Lots and lots of MVPs, as well as my 2 or 3 blizzard 8 kill rounds...
