Well it'd be fantastic if we could pick and choose what we pay taxes for, based on what applies to us individually.

Bush hasn't done anything at all to try and help relieve gas prices just a little. OPEC wants to slow production more which will just raise gas prices extremely high and Bush doesn't care to convince them otherwise.

If gas prices get to the projected $15/gal just think how many people would get screwed over?

I don't know about you but $15/gal would tear through my paychecks faster than scissors.

I didn't say that I agreed with it, I was just further explaining his argument.

What I'm getting at is that, income tax is unconstitutional. We shouldn't have to pay taxes before we get our money, then when buy something, and then when we own something (Property taxes - Homes & Cars). Then on that the state has to get it's share. Then the government wonders why everything is going into recession. Why should we pay for Social Security when by the time I'm of age there will be none left. Why does the government think they can save my money for the future better then I can. They have no right to do this.

The real problem is that we have plenty of oil in Alaska and the arctic circle, but those dang liberals want let us drill for it.

Sort of threating war, much more can he say to OPEC? Stop selling gas to India and China and push up production? Isn't much he can do, we can stop buying oil from then and all OPEC would do is turn around and sell more to India and China. They have us over a barrel.

Ok smart guy, what's the solution if you don't feel like you should be paying taxes?

I don't like it any more than anyone else, but it's how the damned system keeps running.

Mobscence the U.S. only gets about 20% of our fuel from opec nations. Oil is a fungable commodity. Most of our oil comes from Mexico and Canada. Government does not have the right to tell a business union such as OPEC is how to run there business. I want low gas prices as much as anyone but its not up to Bush.

"It's all of our jobs to help another person out when something like that happens"... you could at least make them build their new homes out of sturdier stuff. If the three little pigs hadn't been eaten, would anyone have helped them rebuild their homes out of the same materials?

As the guy with the terrible name said, Cheney is the alternative and he is nothing less than a prick.

No politician is anywhere near perfect, everyone makes mistakes. And while these particular mistakes have reprecussions for millions of people, they still aren't illegal. Impeachment is idiotic in Bush's case.

That's a real good question. Hmmm, maybe they should stop wasting $.50 of each dollar they spend. Maybe allowing the states to handle social programs individual and letting the federal government worry about protecting it's overall interests. Maybe that is a start...

Yes we do have a lot of oil in Alaska but that's been stamped with an "Emergency Only" tag.

Opec only deals some business with us but that doesn't mean that business can't be changed and agreed upon if people actually sat down and talked about it with the effort of wanting to give a damn.

Why would they when they're making billions in profits? Minimally taxed profits at that.

That's what I'm saying. These rich already made politicians don't really care. They grew up in rich families and had everything handed to them on a silver platter so they never experienced what it is like being on the shorter end of the stick.

Some politicians actually do care but it's not enough to make an impact for the Bush administration to do anything about it.

Profits on gas prices is constantly reaching record highs which makes no sense to me. Gas profits should be a constant and if profit percentages are raising then that only means one thing, gas prices are at an unnecessary number right now just to bend over and screw everyone in the ass because companies can do it from supply and demand.
