I was thinking today. I was reading an article in Time magazine about this, and they wrote about Kim Jung Un's education in Switzerland. He went under a different name of course, but what I want to know is this. Going to Switzerland and studying, he HAD to see a bit of what the world was really like, right? Unless he's brain washed to the point where he thought everything was fake that he saw. I agree with Scuba, he's going to be manipulated and conned by the military.

The men who hijacked the planes on 9/11 had been living in the US for a while, some for two years. It doesn't matter.

Terrorists see how we live and they hate it. A North Korean probably gazes in wonder. However, as part of the ruling elite this kid will have been living a life that most of us can only dream of. When the whole nuclear thing started, the export of luxury goods like cognac was stopped, because it was felt that this would have an effect on the leadership.

If the kid saw the Swiss military and thought all of Europe was like that, then we'd be in trouble.

I do think though that maybe his time spent in Switzerland was good, you know he would of at some point news from around the world, In North Korea the news is censored, and internet is strictly controlled. So maybe it was a shock to him...

I agree. He's going to be manipulated by older people than him in the military. He'll give them whatever they want. I think the one thing we have going is that North Korea is dirt poor, and couldn't fund an all out war on anybody. China and Russia have already said they wouldn't help them if they did some drastic measure like that.

It doesn't matter if they could. People don't realize what our military is capable of. Their only chance would be to attack our military bases in S. Korea. People think numbers matter in war. They don't, especially when nuclear bombs and ICBMs can wipe out tens of thousands in the blink of an eye. War boils down to experience (specifically recent), something we have 1000% more of than anyone else. Training is a big factor, but nothing is the same as when the targets you're shooting at shoot back.
