Maps on disc at release compared to later released DLC maps:

We have yet to see or know how many DLC maps there'll be for MW3 but looking at the trend it looks like there will be more DLC maps than original maps that came on the disc itself. This is also of course if the multiplayer map list that got leaked showed all maps that will be released on the disc itself, and not just a partial.

So prepare yourself if you plan on getting MW3 to spend $60 for the game then loads more just to get DLC maps to play with everyone else. It easily has to add up to somewhere around $80-$100, right?

Resistance, Village, Arkaden, Dome and Underground were all playable at COD XP so consider them all confirmed.

Is it worth getting the harden edition version of this game at a price of £75. I don`t know whether to cancel my order and just get the normal edition, and then buy BF3 aswell. Or keep the harden edition on order and wait for BF3 to go down in price. I don`t know if getting these extra maps for a year is worth it, and how many maps will the harden edition be getting throughout the year.

    Please give me your thoughts.

They seem to be extremely fond of map packs. I wouldn't be surprised if there were five or six packs in total, which Activision will charge around £60 for if you were to buy them all individually. It is actually a pretty good deal, Activision are perhaps going for the "money in the bank right now is better than a greater amount of money, possibly coming in the future" idea. If you are pretty sure you'll play the game for a long time and want the map packs, its definitely worth it.

Thanks for the reply Jimdalf. I play Black Ops alot online and still really enjoy playing it, so maybe it`s best if I keep my pre-order going. It does sound a good deal, if the price is correct (or near abouts) for the map packs.

Yea I'm getting it for the future map packs more than anything. I don't see the launch day value of the hardened edition but the long term is there.

Some visual imagery of the some of the map layouts for MW 3:

Are These Modern Warfare 3's Multiplayer Maps?

You know, every year I tell myself, I'm taking a CoD break this year. I'll wait. And every year about this time, I start getting that itch for quick, mind numbing, curse inducing mayhem that only a CoD map can provide. Looking forward to splitting time between to outstanding shooters this year.

I've pre-ordered the Harden Edition too. It was priced at £69.99 in the end. A good price not to be missed. I can't wait to get stuck into this game.......Roll on the 8th november!!

Heh, I know some people from my school that took the day off to play MW3. They camped out outside of Target and called in sick.

I was absolutely disgusted with the amount of parents and children in Gamestop this morning, and until I remember the schools were closed for voting today, I was planning on letting them all know they shouldn't be parents. Good thing I remember that before I opened my big yapper.

Even so, the big 'M' on the case is apparently just for show now.
