I think MGS4 sucks!

hello! i'm new.

MGS4 SUCKS!!! i came here to ask all of u... why is it so popular? i'm currently borrowing MGS4 and currently hating it. its all "CUTSCENE walk walk CUTSCENE CUTSCENE CUTSCENE CUTSCENE walk walk CUTSCENE CUTSCENE CUTSCENE LOADING SCREEN CUTSCENE CUTSCENE CUTSCENE walk CUTSCENE" its god damn frustrating and god damn japanese. i played MGS3 and thought that was a fair bit better 1. level design was alot smoother 2. still a Sh** load of CUTSCENES but not too many. and it didnt go too far when it came to all this technology and stuff.

TECHNOLOGY god damn it japan i played it for 2 seconds and there's all the fng robods that BLEED! yeah. BLEED (they're fng ROBOTS THAT BLEED BLOOD WTF?) and this suit that snake wears? i liked the cold war concept with real clothing n stuff not this technology crap.

finally JAPAN everyone in this game has to look cool. that vamp guy with his coat doing ballet everywhere and stuff that sonny girl with her stockings AND NAOMI!!!! WTF!??? god damn purves gave her exposed **** and shes a scientist! i cant take her seriously with all her clothing being open that bit too much. i aint gay, shes fng hot but its war in this game and shes trying to look her best! -_- WHY IS THIS GAME SO POPULAR IF ITS SO CRAP!?!?!?!

I am too hungover and in a bad mood to even bother trying to respond to this thread in a fair manner. I'd probably wind up saying something that I would regret and/or get into trouble over, so I'll let someone else give it a try.

Oh my god, where do I start.

First off, if you are going to come to a forum and immediately start ranting about how bad you think a game is, at least have the courtesy to 1) Not swear so much 2) Learn how to use the "Spell Check" feature in your browser, or failing in that, MS word, or failing in that, the free Open office and 3) Don't be such a ****ing racist. The Japanese haven't done anything to us since WWII, since then our countries have been close "friends" and there is no reason to blame every design choice you dislike as a result of the nationality of the majority of the game's developers.

Also, it wouldn't hurt to have at least a fourth grade understanding of grammar before you start posting.

Why do we all love this game so much while you hate it? Probably because you have absolutely no idea what a good story is, and the only thing you look for in a game is happy shoot em up FPS funtime as I like to call it, where there is no rhyme or reason as to why you are killing everything in sight other than the fact that you have a gun and there are others in front of you.

Maybe if you were intelligent or had any semblance of an appreciation for artistic value, you would have enjoyed this game. Alas, this is not the case, which is the reason you registered on a forum to express your unfounded, hateful, noobish views to the rest of us.

Please go back to whichever hole you came out of and stay there. If you were to have looked at the top left part of the screen on ANY PAGE, you would have known that this forum is for mature gamers, not pathetic idiots who like to rant and demean other cultures.

Just because you don't like cutscenes doesn't mean that this game sucks. You're probably one of those fast paced action games guys and you don't like the difference between the two types of games.

MGS4 is just a different game than what you're used to.

Also, if you ever took the time to pay attention to the game, story line, and play the other games, you'll realize that the game series is extremely badass and just like playing an extremely badass movie series but you don't know how to open your mind to different things.

Besides, Hideo always does something like that. Snake loves his women so Hideo always throws stuff like that in the game to get Snakes spirit up.

wow. ok, if i came here and said "why is this game so poular?" would that have been better? this game makes me angry because you never get the chance to play it, im not a fast paced fps gamer i like all platforms of games ALL platforms. i thought this was goin to be great but if u dont follow the story its absoloutly crap.

Why is this game so great? Great story, great gameplay, great action, great variety of weapons, great characters and most of all, it's the GREATEST way to conclude the amazing MGS series.

Never get a chance to play it? WTF are you talking about? There's more gametime than cutscenes contrary to popular belief. If you don't like the cutscenes, let me give you a piece of info that might help you greatly. Most controllers come equipped with a handy start button. If you dare to press it, it has the ability to make all of those bad, mean cutscenes vanish.

Now if you can't grasp those simple concepts, please do us all a favor and play a quick round of "Drink the stuff under the sink" before you patheticly try to convey your thoughts to us again.

Your swearing is just stupid and immature, when swearing know when to swear and when not to. Also i'm pretty sure MGS4 isn't a fast paced FPS, its a action/stealth game with crude humor.

Lastly Yes asking why this game is so popular would have been better instead of going nuts like you did.

I only have one request to anyone this may apply to... If you're going to swear, could you please not use GD? I take great offense to that word. My relationship with God is the most important thing in my life, so it greatly offends me when someone curses his name by saying GD. If you don't believe in God, then please at least refrain from using GD out of respect for people like me who have a great love for Him. That's why I use a TV Guardian with my DVD player, so I don't have to hear that word when I'm watching movies.

As for the Metal Gear Solid 4 topic, the game is one of the best games I've ever played. It's almost as if you have to enjoy watching movies to enjoy this game, because playing through it is like playing through an awesome movie. I think that's genius on the part of Hideo. And like others have mentioned, it's not a fast-paced FPS. The object of the game is to AVOID being seen, and be stealthy. I think it's pretty exciting to manage doing that. And I happened to enjoy the cutscenes. If you're into the storyline, then you'll enjoy the cutsenes. If you don't like the storyline, you probably won't like the cutscenes. But hey, you can always skip them, and then not understand what's going on in the game.

What's so good about this game you ask? Well...the constant:

-Pee Humor
-Johnny and the poopers
-Playboy magazines you can read
-Big Boobs and Cleavage on Naomi
-You can make Rosemary's boobs jiggle with sixaxis
-Sneaking around in a c.box and drum can
-Sticking C4 on enemies
-Patting down female Frogs
-Also, the constant exposure to the model Minami
-Oh did I mention Naomi's boobs, which Kojima focused on quite a bit

Sorry guys (and girls), but I have to agree with the original poster. I think that MGS4 is one of the most overrated games I've ever played. I'm not trying to start a flame war - I know that if I specify everything that I thought was wrong with the thing, you guys will jump on me like ninjas.

Feel free to check my blog where I tell you exactly why I think that mgs4 sucks. If you can't tolerate another person's opinions, you probably shouldn't go there.

I respect your guys' opinions, and I really appreciate that there's a forum like this where we can discuss what we love (videogames). Sure, I'm not a MGS4 fan, but I think we can all get along!

lol! i though the gameplay is horrible as well as the story and theres hardly any action that isnt part of a god damn cut scene.
