I forget the name of the level but it's either the last or next to last level but it's when you're storming the nazi building and you have to take out the AA guns and make it into the building. I'm playing on Veteran (as usual) I've taken out the AA guns and made it to the base of the last flight of stairs where the game bottlenecks you in. I can't get up that final flight of steps. There's too many enemies that are limitless which for some reason always carry at least 10 grenades on them while shooting at me. There are only so many (actually extremely few) options on which to go up the steps. I'm still working on it and while you all are reading this, I will still be working on it. Basically what I'm asking is for any strategies that MAY help. Remember, this is Veteran difficulty so some peoples "recruit" strategies will not work.
Never mind, I got it FINALLY.... It took me sooo long to get up those steps. There is a trick and I figured it out so if anyone else is having trouble with it on veteran difficulty, let me know, I'll give you the hint.
If you're having trouble with it on recruit difficulty, don't even waste my time.
You must be a very determined player mOB, to get anywhere near the end of the game on that difficulty. CoD's idea of a single player game is disgusting, they just throw hundreds of enemies at you for the majority of the game... I like the little sniper duels and moments like them, but that level "Burn 'Em Out"... unforgivable.
Just from playing through on Veteran difficulty, I racked up 815 gamerscore with that one run through.
Besides, I love challenging myself so any game I have ever played I've always played on the hardest difficulty setting available. I hate playing a non-challenging game that I beat too quickly because of that fact.
Most single player on games suck so i just play as much as i have too to unlock something if need be. It wasn't horrible but no reason to make me want to play it again on a harder level.

Exactly... I can't tell you how many times I've gotten killed by a freaking grenade.
It came to a point where I was considering throwing my controller across the room.
Same to me. I just played the level where you're in the jungle and then a tree falls down the road to cover. I don't remember how many times did I die from a grenade.
I disagree with the idea that single player modes suck and that in WaW they just throw hundreds of enemies at you. Actually, WaW made me like FPS games once more. I've never seen so intense gameplay since F.E.A.R. and definitely this Call of Duty is one of the best (if not the best) in the series.

I wouldn't say that it's the best in the series, but it's definietly close. I think more people would enjoy it if Treyarch stuck with the modern combat idea. Don't get me wrong, it's a great game, and such an improvement over 3, but I just think that most people are sick of WWII.
I'm playing through it again on veteran, and one of the very first missions pissed me off. The one where you come to the ambush and all the Japanese soldiers are pretending to be dead. **** took me forever.

I like when you have a grenade land at your feet, and a split second right before you die, you hit a checkpoint. I kept respawning and dying because of that ****. I would spawn, and before I could get away it exploded and killed me.
I started to play the Single Player on the Playstation 3, but I decided to wait and do it on the 360 instead. I hate the idea where you have to kill thousands of enemies, and when you die, you have to start over and kill them again.

It is not a good game. The AI is just not right... they can barely shoot straight on any difficulty, but their grenades are like little tiny cruise missiles. They scream "Banzai!" every time they are going to charge, which makes it too easy to prepare for their only form of tactical variation... other than that, they just find a place and stay there, harassing you until they are killed. And replaced. That guy, he'll be replaced too. This is fair enough on the first level, I think its the one where you blow up the depot, but the assault on Shuri Castle, its somewhere near the end of the game... what in the sweet blue **** is that?
When you are trying to get in through that first arch you will be attacked from your left and rear, even after you've killed the guys in the holes who are holding Arisakas but still manage to cut you in half with automatic fire... grenades stream down from the slightly elevated Japanese poitions under the arch, and for every ****er there the game has 5 in reserve. Then, when you advance, another few Japanese are thrown at you... thats a bad "trigger", making them appear just because you've climbed over a mountain of dead enemies.
