Sniping Online??

Just a quick question for all of those who have this game. How is the sniping online? I realzie that COD games are generally in the past run and gun, however I enjoy sniping at times and am wondering how it plays out in this game online. Is sniping involved? Is sniping hard? Are there good sniping maps? Is lt like any other games as far as equiping sniper rifles on the start up screen on any map, or are there sniping only maps where snipers square off against other snipers? Any and all answers will be greatly appreciated

I just got this game online today, and all I've been doing is sniping. I like the challenge of it, but some maps are almost impossible to snipe on. You need to steady your rifle a lot and it takes a lot of skill.

Your scope/aim bobs when you stand still alittle bit, but you can hold in one of the thumbsticks which holds your breathe, and steady's the scope so you can aim easier. If you walk while you scope in, it bobs A LOT and for me personally I can't get a shot off like that..so in other words in order to snipe someone you have to be standing still..

There are a few maps that are like snipe-offs..first one that comes to mind is "Bloc" I think..there's 2 big buildings on each side of the map(you can go in both, and there's plenty of rooms to go in), with windows on each building to snipe across the map from building to building. In the middle of the map is just a open court yard so going there is pretty much committing suicide.

One complaint I do have though is about the upgrade for sniper scope. The challenge is to get 100 kills with the rifle and they give u a scope, but the scope they give you is even worse then the original. So what's the point?

I Snipe every now and I think it's somewhat challenging. Sniping while in the crouch position is nowhere near as easy as it was in the SOCOM series. I just unlocked the " Iron Lung " Perk last night which gives you the ability to hold your breath for longer. I'll try it today
I like to Snipe but I prefer the Run N Gun so I usually just use an M-16 or an M4A1 with an ACOG scope for Sexy Time

I have been hearing the higher ranks complain that the scopes are crap. IDK

Sniping is hard but the semi-auto sniper helps... there are a lot of places to snipe but tis not going to be on some cliff... its gonna be just down an alley or something.. I haven't played all the maps but thats what it seems like.

Yeah I figured it would be pretty difficult to snipe in this game, considering it's a COD game. And I have also heard the the better you get, and the more you unlock, as far as sniping, the worse the scopes get, which is very strange. I'll end up getting this game anyways, however I do like a game where sniping is a big part of the game

If you stick with the main sniper, you'll be fine. Or you can go noob and use the semi-auto. I think it is a lot like SOCOM's quicksniping, and maybe that it why I'm amazing at it, last night I broke 20 every game and didn't go over 10 deaths. Here's the deal: Most snipers typically crouch in a grassy area or where it's hard to see them and wait for a shot, thus making them easy targets since they aren't moving. I run around with my sniper in safe areas where I won't have any CQC, although I still pwn with my Colt 45 anyway. When I'm running around, plenty of times I see snipers aiming at me and I simply jump, crouch, zoom in, hold my breath, and fire. Either a headshot or chestshot, and they're dead. Most chest shots will kill someone, unless they have juggernaut on. But as for the semi-auto sniper, you can be lame and if you miss the first one just keep firing cuz they'll die eventually. I can't stand using it though, doesn't feel like a real sniper.

Well hopefully 'Quick sniping" doesn't make it into COD 4. We don't need that garbage in this great game.

Tip, if you are sniping and kill a guy with your pistol, wait a couple of seconds, in case he has the matyerdom perk, and pick up his gun, then you can have both a Sniper Rifle and an Assult Rifle, or shotty, or anyother gun, If there is no one around I usually pick up a seconday assult rifle, even when I am not sniping so that I have a decent gun if I run out of ammo
