Duplicate Topic Posts = Good

I just would like to say that sometimes I think duplicate topic posts are a good thing, and people need to stop saying "Oh do a search" or "Theres 25 other topics on this same thing".

And I'll tell you why.

Most of the topics that are being referred to are old. If a topic is on page 2 or 3, its a dead topic, and if you post and bump it up, its hard to get a conversation going on the same thing.

Sometimes a person wants new opinions, ie, new topic.

Who wants to read through 2 or 3 pages of old stuff to post a reply?

Sometimes a topic is started, only the conversation that follows ends up going in a totally another direction.

Soo, just to sum it up, I'm on here practically every day, and its just boring to go back through all the old posts. If there was an open topic on "Crossroads Strategies" for instance that I was reading and posting on during every day in September, only nobody has posted on it for 3 weeks, if someone new wants to get a conversation going on the same thing.. I'm just bored of that old topic.

Making a new topic and a new conversation makes things fun and makes the board more interesting.

I'd only say people need to do a search when they are seeking specific information like "How do I do _______", not general discussion or opinions.

Amen, I feel the same way. Honestly people really shouldn't whine about the search bar, just respond if you want or simply don't at all.

i would say i wouldnt mind either but here lately theres been topic after same topic and when i do search theres 10 or so of the same thing with about 4 to 5 posts on each, thats rediculous.just search if its more than a page long fine, restart i guess but its ******** when theres 15 of the same topic with each post only havin a few things said in it.

Yeah i agree but its funny how people, including myself, say to search and then yell at people for bringing up old topics.

Also though its annoying to see three threads all named X-roads with in 10 threads of eachother.

i agree with night rider. making a new topic to tak in is fine, but if u have the exact same topic 3 times in a week thats a bit much. but if the newest topic is like 3 weeks old by all means make another topic to get it goin again!

Although this is good advice, i can guarentee that people wont listen. Never do, never will. Only the few who are not oblivious to the world around them. So if you are one of these braindead people: DONT BE STUPID!

if the topic is like a month or something old... or at least not on the top 2/3 of the 1st page, then yeah I can understand that.

But once again, refer 2 sig.

On other sites people hate necroing(posting in dead topics) but if a topic hasn't been posted in for 10 weeks just make a new thread the old one is dead. If its still on the first page I say its fine but thats just me.

i do like duplicate posts too it does give more opinions and more new avatars and sigs to look at.
