Aiming to Kill Tips

Aiight everyone... I am semi-new to this game.... and have a couple of questions for everyone. One of the things I have noticed in this game is that sometimes I feel like I am getting killed every 4ucking time in ONE KILL. - I literally turn the corner; full health; one shot; dead. - and not from a sniper. So... my questions are:

1) When you are running and gunning...where do you put the crosshairs?

2) When auto-firing... how do you control the recoil (bouncing)?

3) What other strategies do you have for aiming and killing quickly?

Any help would be appreciated. I have been getting my *** handed to me lately. :(

1) put your crosshairs on them... lol. if you can, and keep it steady and quick enough to control it... aim at thier heads if all possible. greatest and quickest way to kill someone.

2) close up... just gradually aim down to control it... you want to **** someone up close range. at mid-range... you probably want to fire in bursts pending on what weapon you are using. at longe range, again pending on what weapon you are using, it would be best to fire single shot. now, you dont HAVE to switch it to these fire modes, just pump the fire button accordinly.

3) other strategies... dont stop moving unless it is nessecary. get used to shooting people in the head because if you want to kill people before they kill you, a headshot is the fastest way to do so.

and with you comment about gettig killed in one shot on this game... are you sure you are playing SOCOM2, cause that doesnt sound like the game im used to playing... lol

1.) Switch your look speeds all the way up. This gives you a slight speed advantage over your opponent. (given he hasnt touched his speeds)

2.) DONT SHOOT AT FIRST SIGHT!! I cant express how important this is to newcomers. If you see a guy a little too far away for your range, dont shoot.. use the map as cover and try to position yourself for a better kill. This is very important!!! [/u]

definatley... almost forgot about this one. too many people shoot at the enemy who is about to turn a corner and completley gives away thier position... just messed things up.

As far as recoil goes, play some respawn maps and find areas where bullet holes appear on walls. Shoot these walls with burst and full auto from varying distances to see how the holes "spread" and you will discover each guns "hot spots". If you are using a gun with major recoil, like the model18 on auto for example, you're gonna want to aim at their nuts and let the recoil take the bullets up to their face.

very good tips so far...

aslo teamwork is key..sure you can go rambo sometimes and get 20 plus kills and pull it out but more often than not you all die and they win.just call out guys when you have a chance so they know where you are and not have to search for wher eyour name faded if you get taken out.

also get use to all the ways to go through the maps as a seal and terrorist. it helps alot knowin what different ways to watch from lets say on crossroads if your a terrorist. i mean you know the half wall, and right alley and red room will be hot from the start with heavy grenadin to fishmarket so act accordingly.

biggest key is to just have fun. i never really got into socom 1 much cause of military. been out since about 3 months beore socom 2 release and got into alot. i sucked too at first but steady playin and im over 450 hrs, a lil over 9k kills and 8 thousand somethin deaths wich considerin i was atleast 300 kills under my death at one point id say im finally puttin it together. just listen to some of these guys tips cause they are good and always have fun...

and no fukin glitchin! :P

1. I aim for the chest...always...it's teh biggest area and pretty deadly.
2. I usually try to stay away from automatics...but when i use one, i pick one that doesn't have a lot of recoil
3. Try to master the M-16s burst...you don't have to worry about recoil and it's very deadly.

I alway's find myself not turning around in time and getting slaughtered. How do you change your look controls so you turn around faster?

Go to the main menu, Controller Options, go down to presets, set them to custom, and then you can change your look speed.

what are you talking about? i do this with a sniper rifle

no, but really... rambo style just gets you killed sometimes... you will have to be having one of those breakout games to keep this up.
