Microsoft has officially backed down on it's used game policy, mandatory check-ins, internet requirement, and region locks. I sort of thought this was coming, and I'm glad Microsoft swallowed its pride and did the right thing. This is a definite victory for consumers and gamers alike. I still think Microsoft are a bunch ******g tool bags for even implementing all this, and had there not been so much backlash along with the fact they were getting smoked in preorders they probably wouldn't have changed anything.

I feel a little disappointed in Microsoft, i think they had a different outlook on how the next generation of gaming was going to pan out. Yes for people who don't have internet all the time or at all it was a kick in the teeth - but sources show that you will still have to connect your Xbox to the internet the first time you use it.
I just feel that Microsoft had the chance to step it up a little, but i think they have just backed out and its got me thinking how much have they actually changed from the 360? I don't think that Microsoft have the balls to be bold and different.

not surprising, considering all the backlash against them.

their surely to reduce their price next....to stay competitive.

Too late for me though...PS4 all the way.

If it happens I'm assuming it will be a Kinect free model, but I don't think they'll get rid of it because it's part of their vision for the future. I think it would make them look kind weak too for just folding all the cards they played.

The day 1 update removes the 24 hour online checks, drm stuff but also the ability to not require the disc to play the game.

    That is a shame.
