I was totally turned on by that little intro movie with all the whatever happening. It looked really awesome. Making my avatar atm.

I'm really impressed. The friends list looks ridiculous, then when your friends have a party chat open and it shows all 7 other people on that little platform, is awesome. My Gears 2 background on the friends is AWESOME as well. (downed grindlifts in the background, heli's, etc)

Only problem for now is that every time I looked at this one party of friends, when I left LOOKING at the party, (when you press A on the party, and scroll through everybody's profiles, when I'd leave that) my 360 would freeze. It was just that one party of 6+ people though...=/

So someone explain this to me. I was going to get Netflix and I'm wondering if Xbox Live just reads off of your account? For example, I buy the one movie at a time package, how would that work on Xbox?

From what I've seen, the only theme that does the friends list change is the Gears 2 Gamestop Theme. It's REALLY awesome though. If you have that theme, change to it if you dont have it already up there, then look at your friends list. It'll look completely different than before. Broken buildings, grindlifts, heli's, ragged ground, etc, it's sweet.

Same thing happened to me. I had three different parties happening on my friends list, and my box froze when looking at the second one.

You go through the Netflix wizard on XBL, and it gives you a code to enter at Netflix.com that will link your Netflix and XBL accounts together.

I signed up for the $8.99 service, which is 1 rental at a time, or unlimited streaming. The free trial is 14 days, plenty of time to see if you like the streaming service. Also note that you can instantly watch your movies on XBL and on Netflix.com.

I like the Netflix service a lot so far, but they really, really need to beef up the selection of movies you can watch instantly.

Alright, that answers it. Thanks, Ome6a. I'm thinking on signing up for the $4.99 service, that's pocket change really and is still a way better deal than the inconvenience of going out and renting a movie.

I thought I remember seeing on the preview videos before it was released, that you can move around with your other friends while in party chat. Kind of like a minature Home (PS3) version. no ?

And with the whole Netflix stuff, I heard you can watch movies together over the 360. But im wondering if one person has the Netflix...and the other person doesnt, could they still watch it ? hmmm..

What $4.99 plan? The lowest plan on Netflix.com is $7.99, and it's a restricted list of movies.

I really enjoy the new set-up. I signed up for the $8.99 service as well but didn't get a chance to watch or stream any movies yet. I didn't know that you can't stream everything ? Hopefully, I can stream all the awesome classic B&W Cornball Horror & Sci-Fi Movies that I saw on the Netflix catalogue.
It was funny chatting with my non tech savy friends that constantly pissed and moaned that they didn't like the new setup then once they got used to it praised it all over the place.
I like the Mii character setup but it does indeed lack options. Hopefully they include Pro Sports Jerseys down the line.

Maybe for only good teams. Ouch...

I really do like the new dashboard as well. I messed with it a little last night, but I'll hit it up more tonight. Nun, you going to be on tonight for some Left 4 Dead?

There is a 4.99 plan that gives you two DVD’s a month and 2 hours of streaming and then the 8.99 that is unlimited. I was actually looking through my gameinformer yesterday and read the fine print on the netflix add and it says you have to have an unlimited plan to get movies over live. So there is a really cheap plan but you have to get at least the 8.99 plan to use it on live. That really isn’t that bad, I think I might cancel my cable because I hardly watch TV but now I don’t think I am ever going to watch it.

Yeah, there's a reduced list of movies that can be watched instantly. The selection's pretty poor, and not very current. I'm not sure if the exodus of Sony titles is to blaim, or if Netflix is behind on stocking the streaming movies, but I do know that if the selection doesn't improve by the beginning of the new year I'll be cancelling the Netflix service.

It's only bad if you plan to use the service over XBL, which is the only appeal to me. I don't like having to wait for things, and surely not movies I get the sudden impulse to watch.

Yea I have to agree with that, what I don’t understand is the they have hundreds or maybe even thousands of some of the cheesiest 80's movies and they have less then 10 movies from 2008. They don't even have star wars on there and those movies are from the 70's and 80's. I think they are going to see a dramatic increase in subscriptions due to Xbox live and maybe that is what will get the ball rolling.
