i sold my 360 in december of 07 to buy a ps3 because i was bored of the system, it didnt seem to have any good games to come out to sustain tiself and it had broken 3 times and i was so frustrated that i sold it and bought ps3. i also own a wii, which i recently sold to my brotehr. i now am thinking about rebuying 360 so i can play gears of war 2, but im not sure whether its worth the money because i love my ps3. any1 have some decent advice (and please dont just write a reply trashing ps3)

Get a job and save for the 360. Just make sure you buy some small fans to help keep the 360 cool. Make sure the GPU and CPU can't overheat again. I'm saying this assuming that you had the RROD. That's what I'm going to be doing. Well, I'll be trying to do anyway.

I've noticed whenever I'm playing a game, My 360 becomes considerably louder. I know it's reading the disk but just wondering if this is something to be concerned over?
in my opinion the Xbox 360 is the best system out of all the systems and i don't think many ppl will argue with me and if they do i will go worse and call it fact instead of opinion......... AWWW screw it, it is FACT haha no arguing with facts because thats impossible

Nothing to worry about. The dvd drive and fans just kick in.
Not sure if anyone can help, but I am currently unable to connect to Xbox Live.
I have my 360 bridged through my laptop and have since I got the system last month and didn't feel like blowing $100 on the wireless adapter.
I connected fine last night, but when I tried to connect when I came home for lunch, it didn't connect. When I came home from school, it didn't work. And now that I'm home from work, it isn't connecting.
The part of the connection test it fails is the IP Address. I have restarted the computer, reset the router, turned off and turned back on the 360, unplugged the ethernet cable from my 360 to laptop. Basically, I've done everything I could think of.
My plan right now is, if there is no help on here and it continues to after school tomorrow, I'll just call Microsoft.
*EDIT*
I was able to connect to XBL using my old wireless adapter I bought for my PS2, but I had trouble staying connected to Halo 3 games while using it.
But you said its your IP address that's failing. Maybe it has something to do with the way your setup was. Just try plugging the 360 ethernet cord into your router, and plug your router with your modem. That's how mine is set up.
Try checking your internet setting through your computer. It could be switched to Public, so switch it to Private so that any other computer can share your internet. I don't know if I explained that correcly, but I hope it helps.

Can anyone please explain to me why downloading anything on XBox Live is SOOOO SLOOOOOWWW....?
It runs off the same internet on my computer but yet Xbox downloads 1,000 times SLOWER than what my computer can do. Why is that?
I'm trying to download the Battlefield Bad Company demo which is 1.5GB and it's been almost two (2) hours now and it's only 40% done. That's fcking ridiculous if you ask me.
I noticed that the other day. I was downloading 125MB (I think) of Metallica for Rock Band and it took about 30 minutes. I thought it was just me. Because I foolishly did it whilst in Rock Band too, I couldn't play while I was downloading either, bloody thing.
Because on XBL you have everyone hitting the same place for the same file. That puts strain on the server and the network, which slows it down.
They really should have a torrent system in the background, that would make download times lightning fast.
It's pretty much the same thing as a P2P program and I've never run into one of those that download slow.
I've seen things on PS3 store download way faster than Xbox stuff.
I understand that everyone is probably downloading the demo right now because this was the release date for the demo on the marketplace if you didn't reserve the game but this is pretty dumb. At the rate it's moving at now, I've determined that it will take minimum another 2 1/2 hours to finish the download.... FOR A DAMN DEMO!
