I use to play it. Got to level 68 on a warlock and have a twink.
Eh, Ill break my opinions into pros and cons
Pro's
- Lots of Gameplay
- PvP is enjoyable
- Clan and community for fun
- Runs on about any pc
- Merchanting is fun
Cons
- To enjoy dungeons you really need to be level 70 and now 80
- Which leads to, lots of grinding, which can get dull
- 15 a month, I could play ps3 games for free online play every month
- Organizing and getting into the exciting dungeons or raiding can take hours of time to wait and do nothing, backtracking from dying can get annoying
Its a decent game. I stopped playing because I was tired of grinding, and just when I was about to hit 70 they come out with the new expansion. Didn't feel like dishing out the cash. I may play again but Id rather play mtgo.
Could say I love it. I used to be relatively active and such, had a character in a few realms. Never got past level 40 though with any of my chars.... 39 with all of them. I love the PVP... now I hear mages are too overpowered, and I missed our on a good chance for the zombie event before the lich king came out... just talking about it makes me want to play again...
I was in the middle of reading this thread, and stopped to go cancel my subscription to WoW. I've played on and off for a while, but I don't think I love this game as much as I used to. I have been playing FFVII on my laptop instead of WoW lately, I think that tells me it's time to stop.
I find WoW to be a very annoying game. You just do the same thing over and over and over again until you level up as high as you can level. Sure you can get new stuff and what not, but I just don't see the point in it.
Although I'm very hypocritical about this because I play Phantasy Star Universe for the Xbox 360
and I do the same quests over and over again.
So I don't think my opinion really makes a difference.
I absolutely loved the game for around the first two months. Then it started getting kind of boring. It could be fun once in a while but I just can't justify nor can I afford paying 15 bucks a month for it. I tried a freeserver for a little bit but the low population and ridiculous lag made it not worth the time/effort...plus I think freeservers are slightly illegal...definately against the EULA, I know that much.
I love the game personally. Me and my wife have played it for about 4 years and both still enjoy it. Before that I was a primary console gamer and have participated in a few gaming tournaments across the states. Wow offers for me a challenge as well as updating content which I really enjoy.
Hate it. Tried downloading the free trial and I couldn't stand the whole cartoony feel to everything.
Been playing FFXI ($13 for the first character, $1 after, always seemed silly to me but you can have all jobs/classes on one character so its not a big issue) for a few years, taking small breaks when I get too bored or annoyed with people (SAM, BLM, PLD, DRK, BLU, SMN at level 75).
Tried EQ2 for a few months ($15), less than half a year and eventually got bored with having to solo grind my way from 70 to 80 getting 1 level a week (72 or 73 Shadowknight). Only real problem there is there seems to be a lack of people and you need a good CPU to run fast.
Play Guild Wars (free online) sometimes for the PvP arenas but I really wish they set the level cap higher than 20.
I've never played the game... not that I wouldn't love it, but I doubt it would be worth the money in comparison to the dollar per month i pay for a full membership to the poor man's WOW, RuneScape.
well i used to play WoW a lot. it was pretty funand the commutity is cool. the only problem is that after you play it for a while, theres just nothing new and you know exactly what to expect at higher lvls. plus the 15 a month thing is pretty drastic
I am an off-on type of guy. For me, I love it because of it's pvp and instance system, but currently I hate it because of WOTLK. Starting lvl 55? Bad news for the people who had to work for their lvls. This is kind of off topic, but I love the warcraft series for it's epic story.
I tried it during a trial my brother-in-law invited me to. It was fun for about a day then I gave up on it. Honestly I would consider playing it if it was free but I can't afford to pay for online games.
I downloaded the trial for a mere ten minutes before I decided to uninstall It.
I did not really like the gameplay, and there are way too many people addicted to WoW.
