any sniper rifle i use (like the m82a1a, sr-25, sr-25 sd, sasr, m40) feel the same. i love using the m40 beacause i can go through a whole level (preferably mission on single player with all my teammates using the m40 and not one of my teammates will have one scratch on them.

Occasionally I will mess around with it, when I try to get all serious and tell myself that I;m going to practice sniping. But then I don't. I like it though, because it is steadier than the M8's.

I just recently started using the M40, and find its alot better than any other of the sniper rifles. I dont snipe alot, mostly in snipe bounds but I'm getting better, as sniping will have a bigger role in socom3 with the larger maps and all.

in socom 3 im usin the m40a1 to help kill guys in there humvees and boats.and im gonna use the M82A1A to disable or destroy lightly armored vehicles

you dont need a headshot with the M4O you just need one body shot and any other hit and thats ez if you have time for the two shots aim low on the head and if you mis you will hit the body then pop him in the arm or leg or chest and you got a kill i love using this thing because the zoom is X6 and X12 so its fun to shoot and prone it settles almost instancely. dont use thermal with it.

yea, you never use thermal on anything, unless theyre bush camping, it decreases your range way too mcuh. im yet to master this but i love the ffeling of satisfaction you get when you have like 50% hit percentage, 12-4 with 10 headshots. i kinda like being able to see a guy, curse at myself, scope in, pop off a shot in his area, kill him, and run away. but taking that extra second to line up his head and getting a kill with a squirrel gun is way more satisfying

i love using the m40a1 and as soon as you lay on the ground it basicly stops moving, yeah you need a head shot but if your good enough it should come easy to you with this gun
