Covering Fire!-a fun way to play like real seals that works!
Me and a couple of friends have tried this out several times and it seems to work on basically all maps, the exceptions would be the very open maps like Foxhunt, or Frostfire!! Once you can get this down pat, you should be able to do it even in those maps!

I got the idea from a video i watched on www.not5150.com with a seal tranning excersie video clip! You can also do this as a Terrorist!!

Ok, first off you need to organize your team! Lets say for example you are in a 5v5 war! Find out whose better with what, you all will have different types of jobs, such as Rifleman as the standard of course, sniper, demo man (this although isnt a must have in order for this to work), and the main part of this the support man! (NOTE: the only neccesity is at least one support man! Everyone else could just be a Rifleman!)

-the support man would carry either an M63A or an M60E3! Personally i perfer the M60E3 due to its ammo count! You can use the M63A for accuracy fire...if you want to get a kill most of the time you do this! Remember though, the support guy isnt the one that will get the most kills, that is until you get used to the way the gun fires! He is in charge of guaranteing that his team makes it across the map!!

-when traveling across the map be slow stick together and at least have one person in the back checking your six! In a five person team it would look like this:
(Rifleman) (Support) (Sniper) (Support) (Rifleman)

-the rifleman can take out any person that happens to pop out while getting across the map, the support man in the front will shoot at the area that the rifleman feels he needs cover fire at, while the rifleman and the rest of the team move to that area, flash that area, then when the flash goes off, the support man stops firing and the team would move on! the sniper can either stay with the group or move with them from a concelled location somewhere else on the map checking around the team, he can also call out enemies as they appear!

This has worked several times with me and my friends, so i hope that you all can try this out and win some wars! If you have any questions then ask!

Good luck!

Heres a lil example of what it would look like from a support mans point of view!

EXCEPT OF COURSE THE SUPPORT MAN WOULD BE CARRYING AN M60E3 OR AN M63A!

Nice strategy.

If you've ever played the PC game 'Team Fortress Classic' they have assignments similar to this.

Cool man. I'll have to talk to my clan. We already use some tactics but could use more.

Only thing i see wrong is that you put exclamation points in leiu of periods.
Good strategy though, but i doubt it works when friendly fire is on, because your support man would become your tk man.

the support man should fire 10 bullets at a time so it would be accurate or step left our right so he won't tk.

That's called a "Column Formation" There are several variations, such as: Wedge, Skirmishes (left/right), and On Line. Stop by www.sotg.us if you want to learn some more.

Unfortunately, while traveling in column formation works for the military, it only works in SOME areas of SOCOM II, the maps are still a bit to small to be moving in such a tight formation.

Fortunately, in SOCOM 3, we should see more than enough space to be using tactical formations, and in my belief, those who don't train up on what those are, may be at a serious disadvantage.

Yes, anyone not using tactics of somekind in socom 3 will be owned. Me and my clan use some, I am just looking for a future clan that uses more.
