I notice that a lot of the time in close up fights, you and your enemy will simultaneously both move in the same direction. Everyone sees this happen EVERY round practically, so you should know what I'm referring to.
The terrain/background flashes by, but your enemy stays in the same spot on your screen, since your both holding the pad down the same and moving the exact same way. Unfortunately your also showing up in the exact same spot on his screen, so you have no advantage here.
When this happens, one or both guys are firing, it usually seems like they first miss off to the side or not directly in the chest/face... and it ends up coming down to who can move the pad left/right and get it on their enemy the best/fastest.
Anyway I try and not let this happen to me. If I notice thats whats happening, I try and recognize it as quick as I can, and not get stuck in it. You don't want to be in the same spot on the other guys screen because it gives him just as enough time to aim as it does you.
Don't even take the chance of getting shot, get the advantage.
This is what I do.
I'll quick move the other direction, while keeping my crosshairs controlled and trying to aim on him, while at the same time I move out of the line of fire. Don't move AWAY from him to the side, he'll have you aimed up and you'll be dead. Stay right on top of him or get even closer, put yourself up against him as you move the opposite way and try and get BEHIND him. Try and wait for a good shot to start firing. Hopefully put it in his back while he slowly fires the other way and tries to turn around. If he's a real newb, he'll even fire most of his bullets and then you can just yawn and shoot him in the face as he reloads.
Basically you do a quick dip the other direction and move your guy to the side and behind him in a little spin manuever. Remember you can move your guy all over the place while take aim and while you are firing.
Anyway this is the best I can describe it but I hope this helps.
