The importance of being silent
I intend for this to be a guide of sorts, and for anyone to add things for the people out there that have a hard time being silent
Part 1:Maps
When wanting to stay quiet, the first thing is WHEN to stay quiet. If your playing a Frostfire on terrorists, then being quiet isn't going to help much; if you play Night Stalker, though, then silence is of the essence.
Part 2:Loadout and Camo
Your loadout should reflect your presence for being quiet. ALWAYS pick a quiet weapon and sidearm (if possible). Personaly, i always get 2x ammo, 2 M67 and my side arm, along with an SD. Your camo should reflect this aswell. The man with the red jacket on Blizzard, the chef on Blood Lake or the Red berett guy on Ruins (etc.) are not good choices. You want to blend in; look like everyone else and stay basic with your looks. With some trial and error, you will find your own camo prefs.
Part 3: Using the SDs
The M4A1SD is one of the best guns out there. it has a bit of recoil, good accuracy and decent power. It works at long range aswell as short range. It is advised that you "tap" it when using it long range, and save the auto fire for short to medium range. This way, you will not only keep your accuracy up, but you will save ammo aswell. Same with the HK5SD, except you can't afford to miss headshots. The SR-25SD is great for people out there who can shoot well and keep a guy in their sights. The 552SD, however, is totaly different. THIS gun takes alot of time to master, and is Hell to try to conform to. Once you get good with it, though, you will be UNSTOPABLE!!! The 552SD has about the same power as the M16, without the accuracy. Always keep the dot on a persons head, and "tap" the trigger untill you get fairly close, due to its not so accurate kick.
Part 4: Hiding
IF you picked the right camo and IF you picked the right guns, then you get to the best part of using SDs:Hiding. Hiding is an elaborate art. It takes time, skill and devotion to master. Start with bushes, and work your way up to buildings, mist and even in plain sight (SEALs on Night Stalker know what im talking about). Rember to keep you grenades on Quick 2 and keep them out when hiding: that way, peoples guns wont stick up when they are near
Hope this helps...pm me if you want an edit

If you have grenades in your inventory your gun will not go up into the ready to fire position. In all my experience this does not prevent other people's weapons from going up. It does, however, lessen the amount your gun sticks out through walls, foliage, ect. I don't think it prevents an enemy from having his gun go up, but I may be wrong.

I play stealth and those are great tips. Always carry gernades when traveling and also stay in bushes or behind stuff, whatever just use your head where to hide. Also being stealthy doesn't mean camp, stay close to your teamates and move up! Usually it's a good choice to stay on the sides and move slowly don't run down the middle. If you are traveling down the middle find stuff to hide behind.

The 552SD is a very tough weapon. And yes, it takes time to master this gun. But it is a very good silence weapon.

The 552SD is quite simple to use....here are my more detailed rules on using it:
Use it ALL THE TIME, no matter what. The point of using it all the time? If your caught on Night Stalker going from point A to point B, you have a 552SD, and they have an RA-14 or IW-80 A2 or M4A1. Treat the gun like your lover: never let it leave your hands. Ever.
When a SEAL is far away, just tap the trigger. I NEVER change my fire rate from automatic, because of the chances of getting caught off guard. If you practice enough, you can single and burst shot this (and any) gun really well.
NEVER,UNDER ANY CONDITION, FIRE IF YOUR CROSSHAIR ISN'T INITALY ON THE HEAD!. When you do this, the aim is a bit harder to reajust, due to its high recoil. I found this out the hard way on Blood Lake the other day. And, last but not least...
PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!!!! Dont expect to get good if you don't practice with it.
Hope this helps a bit. Untill next time, i'll be in a bush, waiting for a helpless SEAL.......

The grenade thing does work. And quite well. I do it all the time.
It works best if you have M67s or HEs out. Sometimes flashbangs & smokes don't work.
Usually when people say it doesn't work it's because they either weren't hiding well enough or their enemy was looking around and had their crosshair go red.
