Shoot in burst. Even though it has a 75-100 round clip doesnt mean you need to use it all.

Don't just run and gun with it. Cover a road while laying prone. Its very accurate prone.

POTUS! this is your thread!

Prone is a very good idea with this gun, go prone whenever you can, and watch big areas where you can lay all your fire off on that guy. In a firefight...I always say don't stop shooting, they get antsy when they have to reload and you still have 60 bullets left...

My M-60 tips. Read and learn.

Do not be scared to take the long distance pop shots. Pop shots from across the map are effective means to get your opponet to turn around and come back to you. You may also be able to snag the kill but you can not do it with the trigger down. Long shots have to be done in burst to keep the recoil down.

Firefights. If you are in a firefight hold the trigger down and rush to your opponet. Dive, prone, stand up, and sway. Keep holding the trigger. You will be able to apply 10X as many rounds while they reload.

Hide. The surprise attack is key with a M60. If someone comes around the corner. You will have already lit them up with 25 rounds.

To my surprise, I get more headshots out of this gun then any other. Maybe it is because I use it all of the time. Always aim for the chest. The recoil provides excellent aim for headshots.

Cover Fire. If you are using this gun, you are a back-up player. You must be able to provide cover fire for the guys with M4A1, 552, M14, etc. When they rush you lay down a blanket of fire. Just be aware of where your teamates are. If friendly fire is off go prone and let it go.

Prone. You have the best accuracy when you go prone. The gun steadies itself and your pattern is tighter.

Ammo supply. You have three clips of 100 rounds. The trick is to hit your reload button before your run out. This keeps you at three clips no matter how many you use. Thus, never running out of ammo. There have been rounds I know I used 700 rounds.

Hit percentage. If you care about hit percentage this is not your gun. Find something else. My hit percentage is usually around 9%.

Hope this helps.

In a mid-range and farther firefight, PRONE. This gun is devastatingly accurate when proned, but you must be close to your oppennt if you want to run around with it.

Yes Sir. I use it every game every round. I compliment it with a Mark 23 sd, 2x ammo, and frags.

I like being in the back providing cover. I am not a point *****. So it fits me very well.

I rush with the M63 and I find it VERY effective. At the beginning of the round, line it up with a teammates head as you rush.. The gun isn't the most accurate, but there also isn't much recall, so if you line it up well, you can just mow multiple guys down like grass.

I line it up and I usually start firing BEFORE I see guys, like a split second before I reach where they usually appear, this way they don't hear you coming.. but it's pretty hard to defend against a full on machine gun blasting head level bullets, especially in close quarters.

This works great in places like Frostfire tunnels. If you line it up right and hold the trigger down, you can just run straight through the tunnels and mow down like 3-4 guys. Or you can rush the computer room with the same strategy. Guys sitting in the typical spots see you coming and they pop out to get you.. only they pop out right into your hail of head level bullets, and they usually drop before they can do jack. Even if your a little bit off with the head level, you can pump a boatload of bullets into a guys chest.. Just remember to start firing right before you anticipate you'll actually see the enemy.

Also I know a lot of people say the machine guns work well lying down. I've read that on here numerous times. I've tried it numerous times.
However from personal experience, I think the disadvantage of proning far outweighs any advantage you get from increased aim. I always seem to just get shot while trying to stand back up, or naded by a guy who sees and hears you shooting 75 bullets from a mile away.

If you have the crosshairs lined up properly, crouch or stand can be just as effective. That being said, I don't ever really stand in one place with this gun, nor prone with it somewhere. I always try and stay moving and rushing because when you run into several guys, the only way your going to have enough time to kill several of them is if you move and dodge and go all crazy while firing at hopefully head level at them. I only use the machine guns for rushing and I'm usually pretty successful at getting at least one kill. I probably get MVP with this gun more than any other, and I think it's because of my ability to use it right and mow down numerous guys. I do that, like I said, by basically rushing with the crosshairs on head level. Usually the only time your going to have the opportunity to get a bunch of guys in close quarters and mow them all down is shortly after the round starts.

I guess a lot depends on your play style, so figure out what works best for you.
