Sniper's Job

I find that whenever I try sniping sonsistently in one game(say 3rd game with same 4 or 5 people) that people start trying to boss you around. I would understand trying to be a leader but they start yelling at me if they told me to cover them then ina split second a guy jumps out of a corner pumps them and hides again. Or whenever I try calling people out or what they've been trying to do I get ignored. The only times I get people to listen is when I'm playing with friends or my clan. Has anyone else noticed this??

Yea... when I snipe and get asked for cover but fail. I get an a$$ chewing from that person but I just say if you were more carefully we woulda been alright. However, I don't really classify myself as a sniper... I am more like a scout. I believe that one of the primary jobs of the sniper in this game is to observe and report to his teammates. Take a shot if you have it, but otherwise stay quiet and communicate.

Snipers that don't communicate piss me off, they shouldn't play at all.

Just my opinion.

Before ever taking a shot with a sniper rifle, CALL THE GUY OUT! After thats done, pop him. Depending on the situation, say the mic is being used, shoot.. and then call him out. Either works, but the first one is better. Because if you miss the shot, you're more than likely to get detected. If he's called out.. people can go after him and more than likely distract him while you're moving, or trying to cap him again. Thats one of the snipers jobs, is to call people out.

Awsome Point! That is usually what I do when I snipe, call people out. The only times when I dont call people out is if I have a perfect shot, or they know where I am. EyesofTexas Ive seen your post and you make excellent points. Keep up the good work.

damn right, a sniper has to call people out, i snipe alot and i try to take over, i actually think the sniper is supposed to control the team. no matter what map, u always need a sniper. i also think its a teamates job to stick close to the sniper for help if he needs it.

first and formost like stated above, the main job of the sniper is observation because of the distance he can see and cover with the scope and to call out where ppl are heading then take the shot.one thing i can tell you also is since THIS IS A GAME a sniper shouldnt always have to cover someone for the fact of the jump out and surprise kill.as ppl whove played with me know if theres snipers sometimes i will tell whos snipin to just watch around where i rush so i can draw the lil buggers out to get sniped. the rushers have to remember ppl sometimes sit back and hide till you get close and in a fire fight theres not always a CLEAN shot to wher eyou wont die either with both or whoever is around jumpin and dancin in circles. work together. hell if i can run up and draw some ppl out and maybe get a kill so my team sniper gets one or 2 i did my job....AND I DID IT WELL!!!

snipers cant do it alone ppl

also side note to snipers, dont take for granted you have your back covered.always scope and see whats up if nothing move up to different location always be on the move and ready for action or you will die fast!

When i snipe i take the shot, then if i miss i call him out - in open rooms. In clan matches i call them out then shoot. Hell i want my kills in the open rooms :)

One time a guy asked me to cover him and i did............. I shot, caped him in the head and got the enemy in the stomach..lol (same shot)

Yea i snipe about 50% of the time and i see that you get no respect! I hate it soo much when people xpect you to do everything as a sniper! I think i do my job just fine b/c i dnt miss. I may not shoot right away but i at least hit hiM!

If you're a sniper and you miss, people immediately go into "OMG! YOU'RE SUCH A BAD SNIPER!!!11!1 PUT DA RIIFLE DOWN!!!" but they don't realize the work you did calling a guy out and still providing a defense. I know if I'm rushing, and I hear sniper fire, it immediately slows things down a lot.
