Close Combat Tips

I'm pretty new at this Socom thing but i've noticed the same crazy behavior in close combat...

Wacky side stepping... it works here and there for me but theres gotta be a better way.

Anytips?

It's just a matter of trying to not be a stationary target. You've undoubtedly seen the sideways running with the quick reverse, jumping and going prone (all at the same time). The only tip I can offer is... learn to do the same. And while your doing it, get your cross hairs on the other guy and KEEP SHOOTING. Try to keep the strafing about head high. This depends a little on the recoil of whatever gun your using, but at close range you should be able to aim for the eyeballs. The only other tip is to pay attention to the reload cycle of your gun. When it starts to reload, jump & juke. Get behind something if you can. Try to time it so your in your best position to shoot when you have a full clip. You might as well join the "Wacky Sidestepping" club, because I've found that running away just doesn't work

i find that in a close combat fight if u just run right at them and pass them (but while shooting) i can normally win all close combat battles!

In one on one combat battles, try to get around them.. make it so they can't see you, but you're drilling them. Just try and move around them while shooting. This is for those more close ranger battles.

Aim for the Head,
If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a bullet.

Respawn it up dude. I am a big fan of the respawn room for new players for thousands of reasons, including this one. It allows you to practice sucha tactic over and over and over and over.

Yeah respawn is way better to practise in.

If you are in close-quarters, don't go in a cirlce....go right at the guy, THEN strafe in circles, but if you run at him first (I've found) its:

A) Unexpected (people usually strafe in circles)
and
B) Intimidating (see some guy running at you lighting you up you kind of freeze for a moment)

Intimidating? You really think so?

I guess at first maybe but ive never really found it to be that...maybe you are right and i dont remember my early days.
I have believed that from day one, you cant be afraid to die in this game or you will never accomplish anything major or anything that makes people go

When your in a fire fight shot like a mad man. Make sure when you bobing and weaving that your aimer moves too to stay on your target. Get behind something when your reloading and rush the guy when he is reloading. When he runs behind something keep shooting you may kill him with a magic bullet or scare him to keep running then you can shoot him in the back. Don't worry about your ammo because once you kill him you can take his gun. :D
