Smoke Grenades
Since I did a search and found there was no thread about Smoke Nades, I decided to make one :). Most people seem to find these of little use, I am wondering if anyone has found any good uses for them? I am going to post a few of my own.
Extraction: I think this is the best time to use smoke nades, once you get the VIPs into the extraction. I like to take the VIPs and extract, so often I'll grab 6 smokes, and 3 HEs. Once I get to the extraction, you lob those 6 smokes and they should last long enough and provide enough cover to get the VIPs extracted. Meanwhile start lobbing your HEs or frags at wherever you think the terrorists will come from.
Smoke also blocks sniper shots if you can get a smoke into the right spot. For example on Sujo down the right side, so they can't see your team as you pour into the right breach. Obviously this strategy for them can be used in a variety of places. Desert Glory for example, lob them into the hostage room will block the terrorist view of your entire team coming in all at once. They work better than flashbangs in this example, imo. If its 1v1, use a flashbang. If its 4v1, you know how easy it is to lose by sending men in one at a time. So lob a smoke or 2 or 3, and have the entire team run up in there. Shoot the terrorist and don't worry about teamkills. Getting the win is what counts. However I don't know if having 3 smokes is worth losing 3 M67s, so only grab them if you have a guy whose continually camping with the hostages and taking out a bunch of your guys.
One other spot that smokes actually saved my a$$ once was on Foxhunt as Seals.. down near that Waterfall. This probably isn't doable on a regular basis, but I was hiding in the waterfall with one VIP as a teammate kept an eye for approaching Ts. When one started getting close to me, I started dropping smokes in the water, 1 every 20-30 seconds. 6 smokes lasted long enough. The smoke looks EXACTLY like the mist from the waterfall, and unless a T runs right up in there, he won't see you or the VIP. It worked great! But unfortunately this was a stunt I only pulled off once, however, you may be the next ;)
