I think this gun is one of the best in firefights. The only problem with it is when it is lagging, your gun sometimes will not fire. If you can keep down your rythem while firing during a firefight you will win every time. Go for headshots, imo.

I agree here. I love this gun during intense firefights, but when a bunch of people are chucking grenades (e.g. Fish Hook), it's next to impossible to try to hit the other guy. I've gotten used to the burst now, so once you get a certain rhythm, the M-16 is tighter than butt cheeks!!

when im in firefights with this gun, and they are very close range, i don't focus on trying to fire full auto, i just try to keep my crosshairs on the guy and when ever they cross him fire. it's easier for me this way, less hetic, usally you get the guy in the second or third well placed burst.

M16 is truly an american weapon (no offence) it sure packs a punch when hit with it and it has an m203 that can be mounted on the bottom, when planning on going into a firefight with the m16 just go center mass. I would rather take the CAR 15 (m4) because i may be sacraficing power (5.56 as opposed to 7.62) (and this shows in gameplay) but i have a higher rate of fire. Just take center mass (burst) and keep running in a different pattern (forwards and left, sidestepping jumping crouching...ect anything to keep yourself out of his crosshairs. (and us canadians should know! we make pretty nice targets in our euro woods camo that we wore to afganistan!)

the way i do this is because the M16 is so powerful dont worry about full auto in fire fights... just worry about keeping your crosshairs on them and fire when you are there... since you are not wasting your ammo so fast as they are, when they go to reload, they are completley vunerable for a rapping...

You're absolutely right about those crosshairs. After trying all the guns, the M-16 crosshairs hardly move an inch. It is by far the most accurate gun aside from the sniper rifles. I wonder if it's like this in real life. Has anyone out there ever fired one of these puppies?
