So I just got a new laptop, an Alienware mx14 to be exact just wondering if anyone else has any and can recommend some good computer games for me? Also programs? I don't think I've touched a computer in at least 3 years been on my phone since then. Got it for a steal too only 600 bucks.

edit. I should probably also mention that it has windows 8 on it and so far I hate it. I can't find anything I want on this stupid OS

I used Windows 8 for about 15 minutes, that's all I could stand. It's like someone porting a phone OS to PC, just doesn't work.

I've been wanting a new laptop for a while now, nothing wrong with my current one other than its too big a bulky to take anywhere. An Alienware that cheap cheap does sound like a great bargain.

I did lib but the laptop was just too cheap to pass up lol. Especially when I can turn around and make a pretty good profit of of it if I want to.

I forgot we were back, lmao...

Not going to touch on this again. All the people that think they're so tech savvy cry when something knew comes out and they don't know how to use it. Done talking about it.

I avoided upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8 because I didn't like the way the new desktop was setup. I hear now Microsoft may add the Start Menu back though, since people have complained so much about the design. It looks like a mobile app more than a PC desktop.

my desktop is cool with Windows XP Eseentials 2. lmao!! i'm so ancient... my laptop is a Toshiba, has 7 i think...? but as long as your laptop is built for PC gaming, all of them are good. My bro much prefers PC versions of console games. but its your go.

It's about time they admit epic failure -

    Is Microsoft's Windows 8 U-turn a spinout? - CBS News

After growing rumors that Microsoft (MSFT) was considering major changes to Windows 8 in response to negative user reaction to the operating system's new look and feel, now it is official.

Microsoft will change "key aspects" of the user interface in a an undated release of Windows 8 later this year, according to a Financial Times interview with Tami Reller, the chief marketing officer and chief financial officer for Microsoft's Windows business unit. This is as big a tacit admission of defeat as the Coca-Cola Co. made when it changed the formula for its flagship drink and then had to reintroduce the original as Coke Classic within three months.

Only Microsoft has kept pushing on its own reformulation since last fall, more than twice as long as it took Coca-Cola management to realize its mistake. However, unlike the beverage company, the software firm may be too late -- as it has been for years -- with a distinct possibility that its former market strength is gone forever.

Maybe Windows 8 is just a little bit ahead of its time? Strange thing to say for a Microsoft product these days.

They've obviously geared the OS towards a touch screen audience with the giant tiles and whatnot, an audience that in 2013 is pretty much none-existent. Its like Apple's iOS; a great OS (for the most part) for touch screen devices but if they ported it to a regular ol' Mac that uses a mouse it wouldn't work too well. That's basically what Microsoft did with Win8, they made a touch screen OS for none-touchscreen devices.

Maybe in a few years time people will have touch screen PCs, but for right now, one OS for touchscreen and a different one to be used with a mouse. Also, the common mouse and keyboard interface ain't broke, don't fix it!

I hate beating the same dead horse but just thinking about the Windows 8 interface makes me cringe.

Sorry I'm so late to this party, but if you haven't already figured it out, just get yourself a 360 receiver and pad and enjoy the same games you would on your consoles at a fraction of the price.

    Cheers Raavyn for the sig!

You can get a usb plug in thingy that lets you connect a wireless 360 controller to a pc/laptop.

It's an official microsoft product but I've not seen one for a while.
