Using my Laptop to play PS3 on...

I want to use my laptop as a mini TV screen to plug my PS3 into (in case my roommate wants to use the TV and I wanna play games). I bought a Dazzle and it came with Pinnacle Video Creator, but the preview window in the program is tiny and I can't enlarge it. Are there any programs that I can use the Dazzle with that has a much larger screen so I can actually see what I'm doing?

I thought about getting a TV tuner that connects into the USB port of the laptop and then into the TV cable and use a cable adaptor for the PS3. Would that work also?

Getting a TV tuner along with an A/V to Coax converter should work. Stick the AV cable into the PS3 as normal, the 3 colours into the converter, and a coax cable from the converter into the tuner on the laptop.

Then, all you need is Windows Media Center if you have it. Otherwise, I am sure you can find a different (free) program to use.

I recently bought a TV tuner (Freecom DV-T USB Stick) which I have hooked up to Freeview (free-to-air TV) via a standard coax cable which runs from the aerial/antenna on the roof. I would think the PS3 would just work on your laptop like TV does on mine.

Where can I get one of the A/V-to-Coax Converters? I'm looking on BestBuy and I don't see anything.

Dynex® - RF Modulator AV Signal Converter - WS-007

That is one from Best Buy.

When you're searching, search for RF Converter box. That is what I searched on Best Buy.com and was able to come up with that one.

It says it only includes an S-Video Input. I don't have that cable for my PS3 and really don't wanna spend more for one.

It also includes an S-Video Input. It includes the regular A/V inputs as well. I used to have one similar before I got my HDTV. Trust me dude, it will work great.

If you don't believe me, click on the more images and then click next. It shows the back of the device.

It's ok, I found a Video Converter. It's much smaller and more simple than what you showed me. Thanks for the help man.

Well when I had a PS2 over there:
> PS2 with 3 colours on end
> The colours went into a tiny box we got from EB Games
> A coax cable went from the box into the back of my TV

Note: I'm calling them the 3 colours because our A/V cables here are different and I will only get confused.

In your case, you can plug the coax cable into your Laptop TV Tuner instead.
