YouTube getting strict?
Recently, YouTube have removed a lot of music videos I liked watching. They were logo branded clips ripped from VH1 Classic and MTV that users had uploaded. The actual videos are rarely shown on TV, and so they made for an interesting insight.
Copyright violation perhaps?

Damn, that bites. This is gonna make a lot of YouTube users very irate.
What harm is it doing in the long run? If anything, we're preserving vital MTV history.
Now MTV should be called CrapTV.

I knew this would happen once Google bought the site. It's not very strict really though, all my favorites are still there. I actually don't expect it to get much more strict unless they get sued for something major.

That's exactly what it is, coprights.
Without consent from the network, they have no right to have those music videos(or any other TV show, movie, ect.) on the site. And if they don't remove them = lawsuit.

I don't use You Tube much, I liked to use Google Videos (before the buy out) but didn't use it much still.
I was looking at some clips of Family Guy on You-Tube the other day and I was just clicking random recommended videos or whatever. I noticed that one of the clips was removed due to a copyright dispute with Warned Bros.
I hate You-Tube with a passion now. Just use a P2P downloader thingamajigger.

It's been interesting watching the rise and fall of YouTube.
The creators were slowly getting heat for copyrighted things being put on there. Then google bought them out, and now everything's being yanked. The nail in the coffin: Google's going to offer people adbased revenue for their videos. So if you upload something, you can say ok to having a commercial put at the beginning of your video. If people follow the link in the commercial, you'll get a couple cents.
Who likes commercials?
