I know what your problem is.

You are imagining those lines on your monitor. Just like people with obsessive-compulsive disorder imagine dirt on their hands.

In short, you are a mental case.

I made this diagnosis based on the photo of your computer area. Sane people just don't have nice, organized computer workstations like that.

Try leaving random bits of paper with codes scrawled on them and a few dozen CDs scattered around your work area and I am sure those lines will just go away.

No, the lines are real. What you are seeing is after I just cleaned my workspace. Less than 24 hours ago I opened up my computer and cleaned the inside as well as cleaning my desk with pledge and and cleaning all the pieces of my computer. The night before you would see about 20 books and random scraps of paper as well as about 3 cups.

So, I'm thinking of buying a Geforce 7600 GT and the VX924 from viewsonic.

What do you guys think. That LCD screen seems like such a good price.

Thanks for the input, Punx. I wasn't planning on buying at Compusa, but I hadn't checked Newegg.

I found a good AGP model Graphics card for my older motherboard. Tell me what you guys think of the deal.

BFG Tech Geforce 7800GS BFGR78256GSOC Video Card - Retail at Newegg.com

Only issue is, I may need to replace my power supply. I am not sure if my current one hits 400W since my computer is 4 (nearly 5) years old. If I do need to replace my power supply, what do you guys suggest as a good company and price. I don't plan on any more upgrades to my computer after the power supply and this card, save a very unlikely addition of another gig of ram down the road. This computer is 5 years old, and it still runs very effieciently. I just want a graphics card that can keep up with the times (which this one will) and a power supply to operate it. The addition gig of ram may come into play later if I should need it. I am told this card runs fine on 1gig, though.

The problem with getting more ram for me is that I have 4 chips of 256mb. I would need to rip all four out and get 4 512mb which is much more costly than if I had 2 512mb to begin with. Damn my brother purchasing 512mb of ram back in 2002 with our initial purchase.

So, just looking for reassurance on this new card and a few ideas on cheap, reliable power supplies.
