Midnight, how are you liking Unity and Gnome Shell? I'm not liking Shell too much, there's very little organization. However, Unity makes me hard.

I tried editing the launcher background and it won't change for some reason. I want it make it match my window border... but it won't change :(

God, it seems every time I blink there's a new release of Ubuntu! If I'm honest I hate unity. It was a great idea for the netbook market because it frees up more screen space, but enforcing it for desktops... not so much. I prefer the old interface where everything is just there at the click of a button. I had an ubuntu 10.04 install fail at work earlier this week (but it made no odds because I'm awesome and had it clonezilla'd to another HDD), so I whipped the HDD out to check out on my 11.04 box. It took bloody ages to find disk management because it wasn't something I'd used recently. On the 10.04 box it's right there in the menus.

I'm sure it's something I could get used to if I used it often enough, but I'm back to Windows at home purely due to the fact that I recently got a new gaming laptop. And what games run on Linux, other than Humble Bundle games?

Well, they give us the LTS distros every two years, and then in April and October of every year we get the "mini" releases. 11.10 just came out on October 13th, so you might want to look into it. Unity 2 is much, much smoother than 11.04. Then you have Gnome Shell, Unity 2D, and the original look. I love having the option to change which interface I want when logging in.
