I never reall thought about it, but all of my favorite RPGs were on the PS1.

Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy Tactics
Final Fantasy VIII
Final Fantasy IX was pretty cool as well.

Also, that game called Breath Of Fire. I don't know if it was III or II, but one of your characters in your part was a lion or something like that. He was a cat looking man, with two daggers for weapons. I really liked that game.

SNES had Chrono Trigger, and of course more Final Fantasy.

I guess I pretty much never strayed from Final Fantasy stuff.

you definitly need to broaden your horizons. There are tons of other New IPs other than final fantasy.

working designs published and localized some stellar rpgs in thier day.
Lunar
LunarII
Popful mail
dragon force
Arc the lad
Growlanser
Alundra
Shining
Magic Knight Rayearth
Albert Odysee
etc.
Man they were the **** in the sega cd and saturn (and ps1)days. Lunar 2 and dragon force have to be two of the greatest rpgs ever made.

Kings field is alittle too much like oblivion to add it with those games, but i was more naming Snes/Saturn rpgs than anything.

And i like Saga frontier right up until i had to swap characters just as i was getting into it, that **** made me stop playing lol.

Agreed but, i thought that the King's fields deserved mention tho, for they were one of the first, first person RPG's. I couldn't put down the second one.

I enjoyed how all the chars. stories in Saga Frontier involved each other but they weren't intertwined. It was a fun idea.

And as far as NES RPG's i really enjoyed Bahamut Lagoon and the original Ogre Battle, but i dont know if Ogre Battle can be classified as an RPG. It was more like a board game with a storyline, but I loved it.

Xenogears. Nuff' said.

It's pretty much my favorite RPG ever and I consider it one of the greatest stories ever told. Seriously. I know that's giving it too much credit but holy crap it was amazing.

Also, Parasite Eve. Legend of Legaia was a GREAT B-level RPG, probably one of the best not mainstream RPGs out there.

In that era, I wasn't big on RPG's very much... Suikoden 1 & 2 were the only one's I had owned at the time. And I'm surprised nobody mentioned them because I loved them.
