IGN: Eternal Sonata Coming to PS3?

UK, September 11, 2007 - Despite claims from Namco Bandai that music-based RPG Eternal Sonata would only be coming to Xbox 360, its official North American website now lists the game as set for release on PlayStation 3 too.

At the moment, the site marks the PS3 version's release date as 'TBD', while the Xbox 360 hits stores across the US later this week. Meanwhile, Namco Bandai's site now also lists Beautiful Katamari as an Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii title. Once again though, only the 360 version has a confirmed release date (October 16).

This is good news for the ps3...its winning back some of the games it lost to the 360

Sure it's good news... provided you like to sleepwalk through your games.

Eternal Sonata has to be one of the more boring RPGs that I have played recently... sure, it looks good... but it's just a typical failure in the attempt of "copying" from FF7.

And it should come as no surprise that Katamari is going to the PS3... the first two games in the series were PS2 exclusives, afterall.

Eternal Sonata has been fully confirmed by Famitsu that ES will be going to the PS3. And with more content!

The ps3 version will have 2 new playable characters + changeable clothes.

And Creep. Do you think every RPG tries to copy FF7? Yes FF7 is a good game, but there are so many other better ones. Such as FF6. xD. Nothing in ES seems FF7ish to me at all.

Not at all... but after playing the boorish demo for a little while, the exploration through the world seemed to borrow (for lack of a better term) quite a bit from FF7. Whereas a game like Blue Dragon's exploration through the world reminds me very much of past Phantasy Star games... and maybe even a bit of FFX thrown in there.

That is your opinion, and you're more than entitled to it. As far as my opinion goes, I'll stick with playing another FF game before I even bother playing ES.

I only played the demo, but it felt more like Grandia than FF7. I looking forward to play this game on the PS3 'cause it's the only 3rd gen console that I own. I hope that if is not that good in the 360 it would get an upgrade for the PS3.
