A point of a game is being able to play it. Not force you to watch very long unskippable cutscenes. Also loading times that last a good 2-3 minutes when going down elevators.
Reviewers say that this game is 20+ hours long. But how long of that is actually gameplay? Probably around 5.
I traded in some games for Mass Effect today and had left overs for the Strat Guide also. The game looks very intimidating, thumbing through the guide before I even play the game, but I felt the same way before I played the BioWare's Star Wars: KOTOR also...
IDK Zero, I expect that the intial character creation / setup and opening story line to take up alot of my time on the first day , as well as figuring out most of the basic control functions before getting to the meat & potatos of the story and gameplay. ( For me anyway ) If it's no good , I'll trade it in quick ,fast, and in a hurry .
What do you have for your character & class ?

I chose vanguard, and I made my guy look asian. I am thinking about making a new character though.
But it is very annoying. I get to a cutscene, a few minutes long. Boss fight, I die. Watch cutscene again. Die, watch cutscene again. There is no skipping. If you have seen it before, it will make you watch it again!
I made a new character. I made a soldier, and I made him look like a trailer trash biker dude.

I chose a Vanguard also. I kept the charcaters original first name because you can't change the last name ( Lame ). I didn't alter my character's appearance because I wanted to get right to it. I like being a mean smart-arse. So far it's alright, It's cool hearing Keith David ( always good ) and Seth Green's voice right off the bat. Frame Rate is really skippy at some points and the targeting system is kinda weird. Graphics and visuals / facial expressions are definetly killer. Learning curve isn't as steep as some people are saying unless they're talkjing about using the biotics.
I picked up my copy today, and low and behold... my 360 is officially on the fritz for the 5,379th time. The only good thing is I should have my empty box from MS tomorrow and I will be out of town anyway for the holiday... looks like the PS3 is going to get a workout while my 360 is at the doctor's office once again... good times.
Can't wait to play it once I get my 360 back.

Never argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level, and beat you with experience!
I gotta tell ya, this game is hot secks. I really like the oldschool "choose your own adventure" feel it's got. It's probably one of the few games that I'll play through a couple times. Aside from a few glitches in dialog sequences, the game is flawless.
I'm going to play through it twice for sure. I'm being Sweet as Pie to everyone right now and I'll play through it again as a jerk.
I've been doing as many side quests as possible , so I'll be taking my time with this game.
I'm at around and about 12 hours and I just rescued the Blue Alien Chick, T'Soni from the forcefield. I'm currently Level 11.
