Full Spectrum Warrior (Xbox/PS2)

This isn't a shooter, well it is, but it isn't. It's a strategy and tactics game. You control eight guys in two different fireteams. You use tactics to figure out ways to destroy enemies instead of pure fire power. This is not a game for the run and gun Halo and Socom junkies. This game takes a little patience and a lot of brain power...well not a lot, but some to do it right. I actually kind of like it. Sometimes I would rather take over and shoot the bastard in the head rather than take an entire fireteam through tank fire just to kill one man. Whatever, I still like it. Makes my Socom game better I'll tell you that.

While doing a search I got the feeling that most people don't really like this game...why? It actually takes skills of the mind, not skills of the hands.

Personally, I'd have an issue with not being able to "take over and shoot the guy in the head." I look to games like Socom or Halo as a way to vent frustrations from my daily life, without snapping at my family and friends.

This game can't do that for me. And I'm well past the point in my life where I want to spend time "thinking" and "planning" out my actions in a video game. I already have to do enough of that in real life, and that's WITHOUT a team of 8 soldiers.

Exactly... In my opinion, that's what games like the GTA series are for. Maximum ultraviolence & destruction with minimum "planning".

I got to play a demo of it set up in Best Buy awhile ago. For me, the controls were very difficult, and the if the mission I was playing was really long. I haven't played the full version of the game, and I don't plan on buying it. I think it's good for a weekend's rent.

that game rules, it's only 4 military buffs like me that like strategy. plus i liked the smarta55 remarks, the look, the feel, and the setting of a middle-eastern country. it also gave me a black hawk down feeling, i likey. :D

I actually like this game. I mean, the guys you control do lack common sense which brings the gameplay down some but it is actually fun controlling your men around and completely missions like this. The cursor needs to be able to be moved easier though. That is a downfall as well.
