MLB 08: The Show

Do any of you guys play online? i know theres so much to freakin do with this game its ridiculous but i havent seen you guys mention anything about the online gameplay. i have played a lot online and the gameplay is great as long as you fill up your in game buddy list with people who dont cheat or lag. leagues are very serious as you can not create a league online and delete it once its started. basically i created a public league and once it filled i started it up and now nobody logs on anymore and theres only one active player lol. needless to say its a dead league for several weeks now and theres no way to delete it. next league i create will be private but not until i get at least 16 solid players to join i wont even bother. whatever the case the gameplay online is just light years ahead of MLB2K8 and they give you all sorts of options to play ranked or unranked, guess pitch on or off, strike zones on or off, hotzones on or off and you can play on any level all star, veteran etc.

I can tell you right now that I am not interested in joining an online league any time soon... not after the grief that I used to go through in MLB 2K6 and 2K7... people play like douchebags in those leagues, nine times out of then.

It seems like they either play like douches, or they just never show up for their games. Either scenario sounds like a complete waste of my time.

Then perhaps the few of us here that play could run a small online league of our own.

Never been much of online league guy though, since, as Creep put it, most people play like douches. The whole "people will do anything to win" deal that we see now with COD4 and Socom.

You guys are right i run into these types all the time (win at all cost) and it ruins the game for sure. that is why i am building up my friends list with people who dont play that bush league crap. what i noticed is the two hardest parts of the game (online) is defending the bunt and throwing runners out at second on a steal attempt. sometimes you run into these people who take advantage of that by bunting constantly even with there power hitters or even better steals second base with everyone that gets on. with practice it gets easier to prevent but its still hard. whatever the case is i am down for whatever league or games.

Yeah I never got into playing online when it comes to sports games, (MLB, Madden, NCAA), obviously Socom, COD and other such games are an exception. I'd just rather play my franchise, which by the way I can't wait to start finally with the reds tomorrow, since the other rosters didn' thave any accessories on the players.

See for me it has been the total opposite since i normally just go right online rarely playing single player in any game. i tried madden and its horrible online but nba 2k8 and mlb the show 08 have to be the best two sports games online for the ps3. once i found a few people on my level to play with that have good connections the games become enjoyable.

Baseball games are okay online, The only reason i play online is because playin the computer gets really boring...But then again playing people who always throw balls and

Have you ever played the Show online? In over 200 games online in the '07 version I only played the Yankees or Red Sox a combined 30 times.

ive played 15 games online... about 10 of those were Boston or the Yankees
