Finally played this at my friends house. Kicks ***, plain and simple. 100x better than what EA and 2k will ever be able to make.

Definitely will have to pick this up soon, probably on PS2.

After seeing some reviews on it, it seems like The Show is the baseball game to beat this year. The other series of baseball games seem to get downgraded.

It might be 100x better than what 2K can make, but for old school fans like myself, MVP Baseball 2005 is still the game at the top of the "best-of-the-best" list... if you ask me, The Show seems more like the old school EA baseball games than one might think.

Definitely not a bad thing, if you ask me... there are worse baseball games out there that it could be compared to.

I might have to agree with creep, don't get me wrong, this game is def. big time, and in my opinion the best baseball game i've played in a very long time. However, I'm not sure if anything will be able to top MVP Baseball 2005. In my opinion, still the baseball gaem of all time.

It's very very close between this game and MVP though

I gave up on Baseball games after EA's '03 game. I finally decided to try The Show '06 and have been hooked on it ever since.

Is MVP college baseball? If so I'll maybe try it out if and when the new game comes out.

Yup after owning both games i would say "The Show" is the game to beat. it almost seems as if the creators of "the Show" realized the competition is gonna be stiff in 2009 with MVP baseball returning so they went all out. the creators of MLB 2K8 went in the other direction in my opinion and i would be surprised if there is a MLB 2K9 after this mess was released.

This games graphics are the best Ive ever seen, ever.

I was playing the demo and my dad walked in:

Him: "Why are you watching baseball?"
Me: "Im not"
Him: "Then why is it on your TV?"
Me : "Im playing a game demo"
Him: "Bull ****in ****! That's a game?"
Me: "Yep"

I seriously might get this. Only problem is, I can't hit the goddamn ball...

Yeah I know what you mean, it's hard to hit in this game, at first. Just keep playing and practicing and just like anything else, it will come natural. If you have to slow the pitch speed down a hair until you get used to hitting. I too had trouble at first, but now I've gotten the hang of it.

And Easton to answer your question, no MVP is not just college, they did make a couple MVP college baseball games, however the MVP 05 I was refering to was the MLB version. However, there is a MVP 05 college to think

You think that's tough? Try using the swing stick 2.0 that's currently found in that debacle of a game that 2K Sports put out this year.

But as frosting said, just give it some time and a bit of practice... it'll get much easier, trust me.

Glad I got damn near $30 for that trade-in last night...

I love the swing stick, Im a lot better with it. I don't know what it is, but the old-school "press button, do action" just doesn't cut it in todays gaming.
