update: i just discovered some pretty impressive downloadable content. 2 new marketplace exclusive cars, the '86 toyota corolla, and some new mustang shelby 500. there's also 2 car packs that include all the reward card cars and the challenge series cars, including the roadrunner which i've still not seen as an unlockable reward anywhere. BUT, this is the crappy part, none of these special cars can be used in career mode, nor can you customize them in "my cars". they're for quick race and online use only i guess. this makes me sad, i want to destroy the bosses with the corolla damnit.

I'm sorry, but this game was terrible. I bought it, beat it in less than a few hours and was disgusted because of what they did to the Gallardo. I would tolerate the stupidity of this whole game if they left the Gallardo alone, but no, they crapped it up along with basically every other car. I feel as though the handling took a major hit in comparison to Most Wanted and it takes so much for the car to get to 200mph...thank God for that ONE stretch of highway.
Most Wanted > Carbon in more ways than one. Sorry. I already sold it to GameStop.

yeah i know the game isn't perfect. i'm still pretty ticked off about how sloppy they made the handling on the muscle cars, especially once you fully upgrade the suspension and lower the ride height(pointless), BUT, overall the game isn't all that bad.
i like it for the new autosculpt feature if nothing else. i also like the customization system using a color spectrum instead of predefined color sets, and the ability to manipulate your vynils. now i just hope that the next installment will allow you to import your own images from the hard drive for use as vynils.
the one thing that keeps carbon on the same level if not well above mw to me is that you no longer have to deal with all that supid bounty crap, that was annoying.

On the contrary, I loved the pursuits. I loved the fact that it was in the daytime as well. NFS Underground was a fantastic game (and I understand the reasoning behind it being dark, don't worry) but you could never see where you were going...just like in Carbon. The speeds are too great and the handling is too crappy to justify this game being at night.

Maybe because it mostly took place in the day? yeah but Carbon is way better, i just wish this game had Day and Night, then it would be more fun.

1) this new version of the nfs series drift mechanics are much more refined and now prevent an actual challenge, well to me they do anyway but i always sort of cheated by fishtailing the entire way around the course in the underground games.
2) you actually get a semi-realistic feeling of speed and momentum this time around.
3) not sure since this is just a demo, but it looks like this one might have car damage that does something beyond just looking bad.
3) the autosculpting. WOW! this one single feature is more than enough to make me buy this game, yes it is THAT cool!
anyone else have any opinions on the demo yet?

I was completely oblivious to this demo being on the marketplace. If I knew it was there earlier, I would have dled it years ago. So I dled it, and I love it. IMO, the drifting is amazingly realistic, if you have the right car. If you don't have a tuner, you're SOl, which I think blows because I'm more of a muscle car guy, but you can't expect perfect drifting with a muscle car anyway
I will surely be getting this sometime in the near future.
