MLB2K6 (PS2/Xbox/360/GC/PSP)

Well, I played the PS2 version last night... and I think this game is utterly horrendous. Especially compared to last year's MLB game from EA Sports... my god, I think this game isn't even really "finished".

I'm not one to buy a game just for "good" graphics, but this game looks like a slightly 'roided version of a PS1 game. The commentary is brutal, too... the commentary team likes to make up stats as they go along through the game... for instance, one of my players came to the plate for his second at bat (his first at bat was a ground out), and one of the clowns stated that he "hit a double". WTF?!?!???

Absolutely brutal.

Now the only question I have is whether or not to wait a week for the Xbox 360 version, or to just get the MLB '06: The Show game for the PS2.

Decisions, decisions...

I have both games for ps2, first i bought MLB the show, and i was sort of dissapointed because the loading times on that game are horrible! i dont know if its just my ps2 becuase its old, but it would freeze inbetween cutscenes and it just takes forever to get done with one game, the loading times on MLB 2k6 are faster on the same ps2 so i dont know.

One of the good things about The show is the career mode, you get to make your own player and play through the minors with him, and the whole game mode is focused on your one player. its pretty fun game mode other than that the gameplay is kinda choppy, the graphics arent as detailed as MLB 2k6 but at least the gameplay isnt horrible.

Overall both games compared to MVP are pure crap! i am seriously disspointed that EA cant release a major league baseball game for another 10 years.

what i hate also about the show is that you cant really edit players say like top prospects on teams, you can do that on MLB 2k6 though.

the camera angles on The show are way better than MLB 2k6.

If you have any other questions just go ahead and post them.

have not played 2k6, but i personally like 06 the show. especially since the play-by-play of the padres is on it . play is a bit sketchy, grounders go right through your outfielders legs, but you can kinda figure out how to stop that, or at least keep it to a minimum. this game makes you play conservative, diving does not dive very far, so you will have to just eat up the hit, and take it on the bounce rather than trying to make a diving catch.

I completely agree with you... it really sucks that EA lost the MLB license... but they "screwed" everyone else over with the NFL license... so I guess turnabout is fair play.

Thinking about giving MLB2K6 a try on Xbox 360... my 360 should arrive any day now.

Hearing this makes me want to try out "The Show" before my 360 even arrives... decisions, decisions.

Well ive been playing MLB 2k6 allot lately now that ive got the hang of things its a little bit more better, you do have to adjust allot of things in the settings buit the great thing is the flexibility in the difficulty. i changed the fielding camera to broadcast.

Both games have their negative and positive aspects, but im sure the 360 version of MLB 2k6 is way better so i would go with that. maybe get rid of the ps2 version and get the show that way you have both? Also the world baseball classic mode on MLB 2k6 is pretty sweet.

I'll probably do just that... dunno if I'll have enough $$$ left to get both '06: The Show and MLB2K6, though...

Yeah but you need allot of space on your memory card to save the actual rosters each team used during the WBC. the default rosters have guys like mark buerhle pitching for USA and other guys who backed out.

You can download the roster updates online.

Not necessarily... all of my information from the 2K6 baseball game autosaved to my HDD... plenty of unused room on that "paperweight".
