looking for the right racing game

hey guys i have been a ps2 shooter fan for a long time but i have been looking into getting a racing game for ps2 that is online. i was thinking juiced or nfs2 but if you guys got any recommendations any help would be awesome

Juiced or Need For Speed Underground 2 are looking in the wrong direction. Juiced is just a HORRIBLE game all around and the driving realism is crap. NFSU2 is still somewhat unrealistic but did good with the amount of tuning and how it effects your car. NFSU2 is a better game than juiced but if you want a real racing game rather than the racing games only little kids should play, pick up Grand Turismo 4. Very realistic driving, lots of cars, lots of parts, lots of tuning, lots of fun.

Gran Turismo 4 is the ONLY racing game that is worth buying. However, it does NOT support online gameplay, and it is a "simulation" game (not a bad thing). If you like stupid, unrealistic, jerky, and pointless arcade style racing games, then this is not the game for you. This game is a ridiculous, and mind-blowing comparison to the real thing. At this day and age, it's the closest you can come to experiencing realistic driving/racing physics without actually being in the car. So, its not online, unless your like Marvin and go with XLink, and it will be hard to play, but it is realistic and in my opinion.... is the one and only racing game to own, regardless of Online playability or not.

Somebody deleted the the "How to get online using X-Link" thread I stickied back when I moderated this forum. It actually worked and was not too difficult to set up. Maybe Marvin would be willing to repost his thread?

Ok I am huge car fan and have played alot of games...

Top 3 Racing Games out right now without question are:

1)Need for Speed : Hot Pursuit <--- Awesome graphics, unbelievable game play and story line, it properly simulates the speed all the way past 200+ mph (i know this because ive been up to 121 mph in my car and its just about the same), car tuning is beyond compare and the cars available are so damn hot, plus the Artificial Police intelligence is really just remarkable i mean just WOW!...

2)Gran Turismo 4: Great Graphics, very realistic, EVERY LAST car ever made(except for ferrari and lamborghini) is in this game and im not exaggerating... the tuning of the car is down to the slightest detailing (i.e.- the gear ratios for the transmission and down force of the car)...the game play gets kinda boring after awhile if you're not 100% into track racing especially because the game is really long and you need to have stamina for it...does have really awesome rallye courses/cars that really get you into the game again- kinda like an reinterest in the game boost...

3)Forza Motorsport: All around really good game...nothing to really preach about...kinda like an souped up version of Need for Speed Underground...
