Really alot depends on your line then your RB. I mean you can have the best RB in the game but if your line sucks at run blocking you will be average and vice versa. Just practice dives and slams then go from there.
Now for some UPDATE tips and tactics for the world of MADDEN 06...
Since alot of people are wondering about running (which can be frustrating at times if not doing what you should do) these tips should help..
Running
Follow your blockers! Meaning if you outrun your blocks by holding down the X button from the hike 90% of the time it will be a minimum gain if not a loss of a few yards. It is VERY important you let your blocks develop before using the sprint button.
Finding the holes can be difficult at times but by waiting for your blocks and not using your sprint right away then you will see holes forming and you can easily sprint through them no worries. A key play would be one where your FB runs in front of you through the line and you can litteraly follow him then break away once it opens up in the middle and sprint your heart out.
Learn to JUKE! This is one of the key components of running as a RB or even after a catch as a WR/
PR/KR. It's especially helpfull when running due to the times holes stay open at the line, etc. Sometimes a nice hole will open up but by the time you manually move him over its closed, well with a quick JUKE over there you would be in it and out to open field in no time. Just dont overuse it and it can be a devestating blow to your oponent.
Spin moves are good at times but can be costly in traffic. The key is to know WHEN and WHERE to spin. It is best used in OPEN FIELD scenarios.
Stiff arms are also very important (rank up thier with the JUKE). The stiff arm can turn a 6 yard gain into a 77 yd TD if done with the right timing. This move can free you from some serious heat as well from a blitz if you time it right in that situation. Stiff arms are better suited when you arent covered in 3 or more players.
Truck stick is a great tool on OFF now thank god and gives you a lil more power for those plays you need that extra yard or two or to turn 2 yards into a TD. Also not if you spin and get hit from behind if you truck stick up 3 or 4 times back to back your player will back into the defender and edge out another 3 yards atleast if not 4

(very helpful there indeed). Just be careful though, just like on DEF if you overuse the TRUCK stick it can cost you...fumbles can come easy if you get hit hard especially by more than one defender.
Switching the direction of the run play. On some run plays you have the option to switch the direction of the run before the snap after reading what the defence is giving you without having to actually audible to a different play(do this by hitting the right analog stick left or right) This can be your FRIEND in many a situations i tell ya. Just read where the LB's are or how the Dline adjusts(tightens, shifts left/right, or opens up) and go for it.
Passing
Throwing the deep ball. This is tricky, but practice makes perfect. Sometimes the LOB will get you the big play and sometimes the BULLET pass will be the ticket to paydirt. You will notice unless the WR has a few steps on the DB deep lobs wont work often ,they will get swatted atleast 80% of the time if not more (once again IF you DONT have a few steps on the DB. With bullet passes sometimes even if you dont have the few steps it will aqueek in there if you throw with percision passing over the opposite shoulder the DB is defending.
Manually catching balls with your recievers. If you throw deeper than 10 to 15 yds this should give you perfect time to pick your reciever and manually catch the ball yourself. What manually picking your WR's can do for you is set you up for bigger plays or set you up to make plays the comp might not have made for you.
PROS to picking your WR to manually catch the pass is you can readgust his route/position on the DB/SS/FS that are on him to give you a better chance to come down with the ball and make a big play. Just time your TRIANGLE press to right when the ball is dropping over your head. Also by picking your reciever you can adgust to underthrown balls that can spell trouble if you arent watching out.
CONS to picking your WR manually to catch the pass is if not carefull you can pull him out of postion and give the DB/FS/SS position over you and can give up and INT. You can outrun the pass as well if you arent careful and the worst....If not careful and without enough practicing offline you can screw up and drop that MONEY td pass wide open. So PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE offline on catching and picking the WR.
Passing strength is also a big thing i can tell this year especially with the inclusion of precision passing together. Generally bullet passes work better than lobs most of the time due to the pass getting to your reciever quicker to not give time for the defence to adjust/react.
Passing against ZONES....Now this can get frustrating with a team that has great DB/FS/SS/LB that all play the pass and zone effectively. It cant cover the entire field so use that knowledge to your advantage. It maay take a few series to figure out the holes/and plays that will break it open for you but keep plugin...nothing or nobody is invincible!Spread the field out some after mixing in the run. Then you can throw a play action or two (if you can run somewhat successful to pull the defence up some) and may get a few deep plays like this. Put in a 3/4 WR set (or 5 if you have but watch for blitz so quick route one atleast on a slant for a quick escape route from the sack) to spread the defence out even more. If you can tell they are playing you deep hit them with slants and hit the HB/FB out of the backfield. If they are playing tight go deep a few times so they have to watch out for it.
Will add more shortly just droppin off a few new updates that might help some people out......
