Elite XC (CBS)

You guys see that Elite XC debut on CBS saturday night ?

I usually catch them on Showtime, but this was CBS's first showing. They signed an agreement with Elite XC a few months ago I believe.

There were some really good fights. The last one with Kimbo was pretty crazy, but I think the chick fight was the best.

Gina Carano is so friggin hot...for a fighter that is.

btw, there was no 3rd round.. Kaitlin Young couldnt continue. Gina won.

I didn't watch the fight(s) because I didn't know it was on, but there is a lot of bad **** being thrown at Kimbo because of the fight.

I really don't understand why people are jumping on this man's *** so fast, he's only had three fights(which he's won) and people are talking **** about him for no reason.

If and when he gets his first loss, everyone who doubted him will be on his case even more, MMA fans will never hear the end of it.

haha, I was thinking the same thing.

I watched the whole fight card and I think the chick fight was the best. There was constant action going on and neither backed down. The Kimbo fight was pretty intense, but I'm not impressed with Kimbo at all really. He gassed very quickly, he showed us that he can't fight on the ground still, and if he doesn't hit his fight ending punches you have him right where you want him. Overall it was a good debut on CBS, but I'd like to see more.
Not to switch the topic, but did anyone catch the WEC on Sunday? That was a very good night of fighing, with two of the best fights I've seen in awhile.

This is how it is with all big dudes. Same thing with heavyweight boxers. Notice how most of those fights only last a few rounds. Cant really blame Kimbo for that.

Try to picture a normal slim guy with the same sized lungs as the big heavyweights. The lungs have to work so much harder to get oxygen to their body / muscles.

A majority of Mike Tyson's wins were within 3 or 4 rounds.. It doesnt really matter in how good shape you are either. With all those muscles, just pumping oxygen out is a big enough / strenuous task.

Both of them were completely gassed later in the 2nd round and 3rd round.

Elite XC event was garbage compared to WEC on Sunday night. It took a good half hour before the fights began. I've seen Heavyweights go an entire 5 round championship match where they pushed the action. There is no excuse for gassing out after the first round. They are suppose to professionals, and not bush league brawlers. The only decent fights was the girl fight and Robbie Lawlers fight. They could of done without the pyro intros...Like national TV wants to turn it into WWE... Sorry I've been spoiled by the UFC, WEC and Pride for two long.

I agree, WEC's show Sunday night was just plain awesome. I myself am in the heavyweight class, and my trainer pushes me to improve on conditioning so I don't gas. If you're a heavyweight you can be comfortable enough at your weight to where you don't gas very fast at all.
