NFL Releases Patriots Tapes
I figured this is worthy of it's own thread rather than just sticking it in the NFL thread.

Anyway, the NFL released the tapes that former Patriots video assistant Matt Walsh turned over. They've been showing them on ESPN while waiting for Goodell's statement about his meeting from Matt Walsh.

For anyone that hasn't seen the tapes, they show the clock/down, the signal from the sideline and the play from an end zone camera.

List of tapes turned over:
  • Sept 24, 2000: Signals vs. Miami, Pats lost 10-3
  • Oct 7, 2001 (2 tapes): Offensive/Defensive Coaches vs. Miami, Pats lost 30-10
  • Nov 11, 2001: Signals vs. Bills, Pats won 21-11
  • Dec 9, 2001: Signals vs. Browns, Pats won 27-16
  • Jan 27, 2002 (AFC Championship): Signals vs. Steelers, Pat won 24-17
  • Sept 29, 2002: vs. Chargers, Pats lost 21-14
In the game against the Steelers, the Pats had a 55-yard punt return TD, a FG blocked for a 60-yard return TD and 3 interceptions in the closing minutes.

This article has some more details on the tapes.

wow and i thought they burned all the evidence. I guess they were cheating harder than we thought. Its a shame how now they try and claim ignorance and act like they acted within boundaries recording play signals from the bench and sidelines which is clearly illeagal. Now all teams will be changing thier calls and audibles, so the Pats reigns has been figured out, and finnally finished.

I wonder if the players were aware of it, or maybe just members of the coaching staff were. You'd think that maybe there would be some players on the team who, if they had known, would've had some respect for the integrity of the game and spoken up about it.

It is such a disgrace to the NFL.

It doesn't much matter though, in the end the G-Men stomped them out!

the players had to have known, or suspected there was somthing fishy going on, whatever information the staff was getting has to be passed down to the coaches and players somhow.

And all these years when I called them cheaters and people laughed and called me pathetic, That may be true but I was right. Give the Panthers their well deserved Super Bowl Ring.
