D.J Hacket to meet with Panthers.
The Panthers will receive a visit from Seattle free agent wide receiver D.J. Hackett Friday, a league source said today."His goal is to play for a playoff contender and he thinks the Panthers will be that with their quarterback (Jake Delhomme) healthy again," the source said. "And he really thinks Charlotte is a nice area."Hackett is visiting Washington today and will also visit Tampa Bay.He could be the No.2 receiver Carolina has been looking for to take the pressure off of top receiver Steve Smith. Carolina has already re-signed wide receive Muhsin Muhammad, who had spent the past three seasons with Chicago.Hackett is 26 and could be the big receiver to complement Smith at 6-foot-2 and 208 pounds. With Seattle last season he was limited by injuries to six games, but still caught 32 passes for 384 yards and three touchdowns.
If we pick him up, I will be STOOOOOOOKED.

I'm sorry, but I just laughed extremely hard. If the Panthers make the playoffs this year, it isn't because they're good enough, just that they play in a crappy division.
In fact, the NFC South was the only division that didn't have a team with 10 wins in 07 (Bucs were 9-7).

I think its funny from coming from a Bengals fan.
One of the worst Ds in the league, FO that is smart enough to release players like Landon Johnson, and a star WR that hates his own team.
And as murqq said, AFC North isn't anything special either.

I'm not even going to bother arguing. I have my opinion and you have yours. I think the NFC South sucked in 07 (seeing as how 9-7 won the division) and that's the way it is.
To send this thread back in the right direction, David Pollack has been cleared to return after suffering a broken neck in September 06, but he hasn't made a decision as to whether or not he will return.
Also, Ben Utecht met with the Bengals last week. It's not Dallas Clark, but it's still pretty damn good considering the Bengals TE group consisted of an aging player and a rookie.

Ok, I don't recall in Irish's post saying anything about the NFC south being good or bad in previous years, just this year. Nor, did he mention anything about the AFC North being awesome or special. I agree with Irish, NFC south sucked this year. 9-7 being the top division leader is bad. This year did count murqq, every year counts.

Someone please tell me how this person was in S3?
Anywho, Larry Fitzgerald has resigned with the Cards for 4 years 40 mil.
Jayson Taylor has now said he wants out of Miami. Bill Parcels has said he will either play as a fin or have to retire. Hopefully they do trade seeing as Taylor still has some years left in him.

I think the Cardinals overpaid for Larry Fitzgerald, considering Anquan Boldin's large salary and the fact that the Cardinals need help in so many other areas. He is a good player, but this really hurts their salary cap.

Someone tell me why someone would care about something that wasn't a bigf deal, AND happened over a year ago.
And yes, Larry was overpaid.

Yeah but after looking at the contract a little closer, they actually did as good of a job with it as you can expect, other than just giving him too much money. But it shouldn't hurt them too much in the salary cap long-term if they are smart about it.
