Bond's 756 to be Branded with an Asterisk

The poll for what was to be done the Barry's 756th homer ball has been decided. It will be branded with an asterisk to symbolize Bond's alleged steroid use and then will be put into the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Personally, I think they should burn it.

Also, the Giants announced that they will be letting Bonds go after this season. I guess they just wanted to keep him so they could get the title as the team who's player broke the record.

This is the most Stupid thing I've heard in the whole sports world (except for Vick of course) for a long time. Personally I think Barry Bonds is an ***hole. The thing is he has never been caught using steroids. I don't care that he's gained nearly 50 pounds from when he started at SF or anything else. It has never been proven that he's taken steroids and therefor I think the recored is not tainted.

As for this Mark Echo guy I think he's a ****ing loser.

I agree with you that he is technically still innocent, and the whole world knows that there is a strong possibility that he took steroids, the ball should not be placed like that in the Hall of Fame. A true baseball fan will know that Bonds played during a questionable time in the MLB regarding substance abuse, which should trigger an asterisk in their head. But to actually brand one onto the ball is a little over the top in my opinion.

I know he hasn't broken any rules, but he has stated that he took performance enhancing substances that were banned by the MLB, but claimed "He did not know they were banned." I realize he has not broken a single regulation, but I, along with thousands of other fans, have a strong suspicion that he used something illegal.

Quite honestly, I wish there was no cloud hovering over Bonds' head during this era, and at the time he broke the record. It would have made breaking the record that much more memorable, and admirable.

Setting aside what I think of the whole situation with Bonds and steroids, the ball should not be placed in the Hall of Fame with asterisk. That I will agree with, since there is no proof he committed any violations, but it still doesn't change my opinion on the whole situation regarding steorid use.
