The only reason I want Martin to win the cup is that it is his final seaason and he has never won a cup title. Also I caught the Talladega race today and was pissed off that Gordon was involved in the big one and also Vickers spun out Johnson at the end to win (Even if it was his first Nextel Cup win). I still want Gordon to win the cup.

(Note to Mods, could you change the title to NASCAR General Disscussion, and possibly make it a sticky because I see every other sport has a general dicussion sticky, why not NASCAR?)

Sorry, but NASCAR isn't quite a sport..

Define: sport - an active diversion requiring physical exertion and competition.

NASCAR....physical? Oh wait..it is, Jeff Gordon pushed a guy...

ever hear of a motorSPORT. Have you ever seen any F1 and IRL drivers? Those guys are bulked up.

So did anyone see the dega race? Jimmie Johnson was about to cry. Thank god vickers is leaving hendrick, hes to good of a person to be on that crap team. To bad Mears is going over there, looks like he'll turn gay now. That last lap was pretty awsome, its to bad Dale jr. got involved in something that wasn't his fault. Its good that Martin had a good race, he might just win the cup this year before he move to the crappy MB2 team.

i'm not a huge fan or anything but i used to love watching dale earnhart race. he was willing to TAKE the lead by any means nessecerry. jr.'s not too bad but he's not his dad, that's for sure.

i wish they'd have just one race a year where they could do anything they wanted to thier cars to enhance performance, no governors, no body or model limitations, no rules. let's see what a combination of master mechanic and expert driver can do on an oval track when they're given free reign.

I had a dream where Jeff Gordon was eliminated from the cup chase =/ But if out of all the drivers that made the chase I think Jeff Burton should get top honors if the drivers I like don't get it first

They did that from the '40s to the early '70s. Every hear of the dodge superbird and the plymoth roadrunner? Well back then you could do what you want with your car. When these 2 cars came out in '71 they were already more powerful and faster than the sup'd stock cars. Add new parts and they became twice as powerful. When Racers like Richard Petty took them into nascar they won almost every single race unless they had a mechanical problem. Those cars were able to reach 220mph at Dayton and Tallahdega which both are over 2.5 miles long. Back then that was increadible for a car to go that fast. Of course today at those tracks the cars only go around 200mph because of a restictor plate but when some drivers particepated to test new cars at the salt flats in Utah, the cars went over 230mph. So compare cars from over 30 years ago toping only 10mph slower than today's cars is amazing. If teams did what ever they wanted to their cars there will be no compation and excitment.

Pheonix this weekend. There was some good races in the past here. There's also many drivers who are good there so it should be a good race.

Can one of the mods please sticky this and change the name to something like:
Nascar General Disscusion.
