This doesn't directly pertain to the NBA, but I there was an article in Newsday today about Sun Ming Ming, a 23 year old who is 7 feet 9 inches! That's three inches taller than Yao, which is quite impressive. Not to mention he is the world's second tallest man.
The article was saying that he hopes to play in the NBA one of these days, but it all depends on how he recovers from his recent surgery that he had to remove a tumor that was next to his pituitary gland. The tumor caused him to have gigantism, and up until they removed the tumor, he was still growing.
They showed a picture of him and compared his height to Yao, and a couple of other players, including Michael Jordan (They comapred his height, not his skill level to MJ, lol). I couldn't imagine any under 6'5 trying to defend him. He definetly would be a force on the court if developed into an all around player.
