Wow !! This ref betting scandal is HUGE. A ref fixing Basketball games can be a league killer depending on the damage that this guy has caused and done. Especially if the FBI was watching him during the season and allowing it to go on while they investigated. It should be interesting to hear what Mark Cuban has to say about it.

Kevin Garnett traded to the Celtics for about 6 players.

Blazers #1 pick Greg Oden will be out for the entire up coming season. He was the most dominating player last year in colloge basketball.

....as a result of undergoing microfracture surgery on his right knee.

That's a pretty big loss for the Blazers, but hopefully he bounces back quickly.

I am still not convinced they are a legit team. I do believe they will come out with the first seed but I believe in the Pistons. The Celtics Have a cupcake schedule and don't play a tough stretch of opponents until after the all-star break. (I'm referring too the Texas road trip in March when they have to go through Dallas and SA). Are they a legit threat in the east? Yes, but are they lock to come out and represent the eastern conference? No.

They aren't a very deep team (the big three are all averaging 20+ points per game, but their other two starters are not even averaging 10+ points per game. I think Rajon is only averaging 8.6 ppg right now) but face it...they are damn good. If they stay healthty, and there is no reason to believe they won't, they will be a force to be reckoned with. I don't want to hear that the West is too strong because if Baron Davis is good enough to single-handedly knock off the supposed "best team" in the league (which they are not because Dirk sucks balls) then I think the East will always have a shot...pending the immediate demise of San Antonio
