You are thinking in the right direction, but I think you are looking at the silver lining. A lot of teams want Soriano, but I think he is more or less interested in playing for a winner. The Phils have a great team and would be solid with Howard, Utley, and Soriano in the middle of their lineup. The Cubs would have Soriano, Lee, and Ramirez....WOW. I look for him to end up on the Dodgers or the Marlins.....yes, the Marlins!

If he ends up on the Marlins, I want a job for ESPN......this is just a hunch I have had for a while. The Marlins are an up and coming team, who are one vet shy of being a serious contender!!!! Alfonso Soriano could help mold that team.....

How about that Matt Lidle guy. Maybe they should trade him......

Talking to JAKK: The Marlins would be alot better if Soriano was traded there. You got Cabrera and then him, what more do you need?

The Phillies reportly have Pat Burell on the trading block. He could add a nice touch of power to any team, with his 30 HR's, and 100 RBI's, even though he strikes out a bit too much for my liking. It might be hard to dump Burrell's with his contract, but the Phillies desparately want to add Soriano and/or Sheffield, which wouldn't be possibly with Burrell's salary on board. At this point, I'm not really sure where or if he will end up somewhere other than the Philles next season. Anyone have any thoughts?

If you're talking about Corey Lidle, you're a tool. I don't even like the Yankees (I'd say I almost hate the Yankees), but that's just a damn utterly tasteless comment to make.

At least get the effin guy's name right before you throw out a tasteless joke like that, guy.

GOSH!

It's a hard move to trade him. He had a decent season and without him the Phills will have to get a new outfeilder. They could get Sheff and move Victorino to LF as he is good in any part of the outfeild, Sheff is getting older tho, Burell is 32 I think and Sheff is about 39 so I really think the Phills won't go after him. Trading burell for Sorinao would be a good deal. The phills have Nunez who is great defensively but doesn't bat good.

I was happy to read the Chicago Tribune today. One of the articles was about possible Cub signings. One article mentioned that the Cubs will be looking at Vernon Wells and Gary Sheffield.......

Imagine the heart of the lineup with Wells/Sheffield, Ramirez, and Lee!!!!!

Vernon would be a nice pickup for you guys. I don't know about Sheff though...I mean...Lou Pinella and Sheff in the same clubhouse? I can see the storms brewing already. Sheff is nothing but a cancer on whatever team he plays for.

I agree, and I think this Sheffield signing should NOT take place! The Cubs need someone younger, and who doesn't come with as much baggage. Not to mention he is coming off of an injury... it would just be a bad idea, in my opinion.

Are we now worried about injuries? I thought the entire Cubs' roster was injured......

Why not add another 10 million dollar salary to the Chicago Disabled List (formerly known as the CHicago Cubs)!!!!
