As an unbiased, level-headed, educated, NY Rangers season ticket holder I must tell you that you are wrong. I've seen the most flagrant one-sided officiating this year and it made me just as sick as the Rangers effort in the first 50 games. If there is anyone the NHL wants to pull for, look no further than the little boys from Buffalo. I respect the Sabres style of hockey and they certainly are strong contenders but I sure hope they don't lose to the lowly Rangers who could very easily be up 2-1 right now.
And as for this.......

Look at it this way, the Rags have thrown everything but the kitchen sink at us, all they've got to show for it is a double OT win. The storm has been weathered, and the Sabres in 5.

You sir have let the snow settle too far into the brain. As a heavily favored number one seed your boys sure have a strange way of displaying dominance. The Islanders (pure crap btw - sorry Pre) could have very easily taken a couple of more games in round if the replay judges in Toronto weren't all cocked up on syrup flavored shlongs. No excuses here on behalf of the Isles or my Rangers. I'm just pointing out that the Sabres apparently like to keep games real close for the sake of entertaining the opposing fans who sit back waiting to get the calls that they have been getting.
I'm fairly certain that we don't have a great chance to win the series, but I'm even more certain that you have been BARELY winning and have set yourself up for a possible major collapse. Don't go shoving those wings down your throat just yet Buffalo Bill.

I am personally pulling for the Rangers to win, it would just be amazing. I hate the Sabers, I really do. I don't have a reason though, so I'm not going to make something up to say why.
Anyways, GO WINGS AND RANGERS.

Boba I never said any of the officials... how can I be wrong if an article released by the NHL stated that they would like the Rangers to continue?

Then all I can assume is that they feel bad for all the injustice that was enforced towards the Rangers most of the year. I'm sure the fact that Jagr sat out of the all star game had a big impact on the refs being "ordered" to let him get mauled with little penalty to the ones who mauled him.
Of course if the NHL wants them to succeed now they sure aren't showing any favoritism thus far in this series with Buffalo. And even if they DID want them to succeed they should keep their mouths shut because a true league wants everyone to do well. Favortism sucks and unfair officiating sucks even more. Let ALL teams play!

Hey, you have every right to say the Isles are pure crap. They got off to a fantastic start, played well in the middle of the season (scoring points in 16 out of 18 games at one point) and then had to ride the coat tails of Dubie just to make the playoffs because of a disgusting display of not caring whether or not they won games or not. We were lucky everything played out the way it did in the final week and beat the odds to make the playoffs. I said many times in this thread I'd rather had not seen the Isles make the playoffs than see them be the chairmen of the one and done club for yet another season.
As for the series against the Sabres, the Isles showed serious balls. We weren't blown out in any games and the Sabres did nothing more than show that the only way they could score goals was to throw the puck at the net and hope for a deflection. I saw more grit in the Isles offense than the Sabres and was proud of how we played (especially Bergeron's blast from the blue line to win the only game of the series that the Islanders clearly controlled). I say **** the Sabres.

They didn't publicly state that they are favoring them, they said it would be nice for them to make it. It's not favoritism, it's publicity. Having the Rangers in the Finals would bring more attention to the NHL. It said that "some of the NHL people are secretly pulling for a Ranger victory." Just because they are hoping for them to win doesn't mean they are going to try to do anything to help them get there. That would make the NHL look even worse.

The NHL is doing so bad in ratings this year that by next year their exclusive network is going to be C-SPAN. And for those that don't know what C-SPAN is, it's the government channel that no one watches or knows about. Sad, but likely (well maybe not C-SPAN) since the NHL just doesn't seem popular in the U.S. compared to the ratings of other sports.

Man what an awesome game last night against the Wings (score of 2-1, Sharks). The Sharks played horrible for the first period and a half or so, but once Ryane Clowe scored, they turned the jets on. Joe Thornton was being triple-teamed the whole night and got kicked out of the faceoff 5 times. But he led the game in hits with 7 (and they were huge). Nabby had some beautiful saves as well... and Grier played a great forecheck and then, of course, Cheechoo gets the game winner. Man the Tank was loud... can't wait for Game 4 on Wednesday.
Sharks take the series, 2-1.

Wow... Sharks just lost in OT, 3-2. That's twice now that the Sharks were up 2-0, were tied, and then beaten. I have no faith in the Sharks right now. Nabokov was an idiot who basically lost the game when they scored with 20 seconds left in the 3rd.
