The Stars lost to the Blues last night, 4-2. The Blues got an empty-netter with about 20 seconds left to secure their lead. The Sharks needed the Stars to lose so they can stay technically ahead of them since the Sharks have one more win than the Stars do (even though they both have the same points).
Sharks play the Ducks tomorrow... this should be interesting.

HAHAHAHA!!!!
The Sabres played playoff hockey last night....attention to detail....shut down Pitts' power play, And I mean SHUT DOWN....Miller was awesome.
This was definitely a statement win to the rest of the league.

The Rangers lost to the Islanders last night, 3-2 after a shootout. The Islanders were up 2-0 early, but the Rangers battled back and held the momentum for pretty much the rest of the game.
It was pretty funny to see the Islander players celebrating after the win so much, since they needed to win the game in order to keep their playoff chances alive. Little did they know, they had been eliminated already since even if the Islanders win out the rest of their games, they lose the tie breaker in the wins column. I bet that reality hit them hard in the locker room afterwards.
The Rangers need 1 point to clinch a playoff spot. They have two games left to do so.
EDIT: Now that I'm looking at the standings, the Islanders are not eliminated until Montreal gets two more points, since the Islanders have 3 games left, not 2 games left. The MSG annoucers thought the Islanders only had 2 games left, and if they did, then they would be eliminated. They seemed pretty confidnet that the Islanders were eliminated. So, a mistake on their part.

Screw the playoffs. We don't deserve to be there. Who would have thought that even with our big pickups at the deadline we would be worse off than when we started?

Okay, number 1, Ryan Whitney is essential to our power play and he was out with a groin injury, that's why we went 0-8 on the pp, number 2, Ryan Miller wasn't "awesome", he just had 6 people standing around him and the shots never got through, and number 3, we split the series this year with you guys so stop being ecstatic.

Statement win? Against the Penguins? I don't think so...maybe if it was against a power house from the Western Conference, not the Pittsburgh Penguins. Come playoff time, the atmosphere is completely different, and I would not be surprised it the Sabres get knocked out before reaching the Stanley Cup Finals, much like they did last year.

There aren't too many power houses from the Western Conference, other than Nashville and Detroit.

The teams that I consider to be "Power Houses" in the West are Detroit, Nashville, San Jose, Dallas, and Anaheim. I don't think it is limited to just Nashville and Detroit.
I think many people over look Anaheim as a team, and little know that they have the third best powerplay in the league, behind Montreal and San Jose.

I do agree with you on those Powerhouses of the West, I think that the Flames should be added to that list too. I know they are fighting for the last seed, but the way they have came out in the last part of the season is amazing. Maybe I'm just to nice.
