Well that's why I said just a bit. They didn't grossly overpay him like everyone other free agent they signed. I just not a fan of the long contract that they continuoslu sing players to (which ultimately makes it harder to move them should they see it fit).

He must have done something right to be the top rated defensemen by many in this years free agents (among D-men).

I've been reading from multiple sources now the Penguins want to bring Jagr back. Hopefully it's only a matter of time before Jagr the Ranger becomes and Ex-Ranger.

Scuba, you don't even know the story about Campbell. The Sharks offered him about $6 million for 6 years while the Blackhawks offered him the same, but for 8 years. Campbell wanted a solid contract seeing as he's been moved around quite a bit. Plus he wanted to be closer to his family in the East.

I don't care about his contracts, the guy doesn't play smart hockey most of the time. Ever since he had one nice spin-o-rama goal, he tries doing it all the time. Not just in the offensive zone. I've seen him try it when he was the last guy in his own zone to get past a fore checker. He lost the puck and almost gave up a goal.

Plain and simple, he doesn't play smart hockey. It was also him who took the penalty that ended the Sharks' post-season run.
